BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026 -_____ <br /> <br />ACCEPTING FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FUNDING FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF BOWERS FIELD HANGAR TAXILANE COMPLEX <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The adopted Airport Layout Plan (ALP) identifies existing and future facilities at Bowers <br />Field; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The ALP identifies a hangar taxilane complex to allow for additional hangar space and <br />access to the active runway; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works did receive notice from the Federal Aviation <br />Administration (FAA) supporting its request to construct a hangar taxilane complex at <br />Bowers Field; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The FAA did grant Kittitas County $830,625.00 in grant funds supporting the <br />construction phase of the hangar taxilane complex project through grant number 3-53- <br />0026-025-2026; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Funding for the construction phase includes a 5 percent match required with the grant <br />funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Local matching funds are available within the current budget. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest <br />of the public, does hereby accept Federal Aviation Administration funding for the <br />construction phase of the hangar taxilane complex project; and <br /> <br />NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: the Board of County Commissioners does authorize the <br />Director of Public Works to sign necessary documents to accept the grant funds. <br /> <br /> <br />DATED this 22nd day of June 2026, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br /> <br />☐ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik ________________________________ <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br /> _______________________________ ________________________________ <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br />
