<br /> <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS - BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: June 22, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution Accepting Federal Aviation Administration <br />Grant Funds for the Construction Phase of the Hangar Taxilane <br />Complex Project. <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Accepting Federal Aviation Administration <br />Grant Funds for the Construction Phase of the Hangar Taxilane <br />Complex Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: An Airport Layout Plan (ALP) for Bowers Field was approved in <br />2018 by Resolution 2018-136. The ALP identifies existing facilities <br />and future facilities at Bowers Field. One of the future facilities <br />identified on the ALP is the development of a Hangar Taxilane <br />Complex area located on current vacant lots H-3 and H-4. This <br />taxilane project will allow for additional hangar space to be <br />constructed and associated access to the active runway. <br /> <br /> The Federal Aviation Administration previously provided funds for <br />the design of the hangar taxilane complex. The FAA has noticed <br />Public Works of available funds to construct the hangar taxilane <br />complex through grant number 3-53-0026-025-2026. <br /> <br />The FAA grant is for $830,625.00 to support construction. A local <br />match of 5% is required.
