NATURAL WATERS
Hungry Junction lmprovement Project June 4,2025
Task2.4 !D Hydraulic Modeling
Natural Waters will develop a 2D hydraulic model (SRH-2D) for the reach identified (e.g., just
upstream and downstream of the Faust Rd bridges) utilizing the combined L|DAR, bathymetric
and topographic surface provided by KCPW.
Assumptions:
o The FEMA 2D hydraulic model, provided by KCPW, will be utilized to estimate boundary
conditions (e.g. flows for the upstream boundary conditions and water surface
elevations for the downstream boundary conditions) for the SRH-2D model.
o The combined L|DAR, topographic and bathymetric surface provided by KCPW with
extents discussed will be used to develop the SRH-2D hydraulic model.
o The proposed structure and channel design will meet County Floodplain Code and
therefore a no-rise analysis is not required. lf the design is identified as not meeting
County Floodplain Code, then additional effort will be required that is beyond this scope
of work.
o lt is assumed a CLOMR or LOMR will not be needed for this project. lf after this analysis
it is determined a CLOMR/LOMR is necessary, it will be handled in a future amendment.
. Up to 80 hours is available for Task 2'4.
Task 2.5 Scour Analysis
Natural Waters will determine depth of scour estimates for the proposed Hungry Junction Road
water crossing. These estimates will be provided to KCPW staff for consideration in design of the
proposed water crossing structure.
Assumotions:
r KCpW will provide geotechnical and structural information at scheduled time to
complete scour related tasks.
. Up to 6 hours is available for Task 2.5.
Task 2.6 Permitting Assistance
Key project elements and findings will be discussed with the services and select stakeholders as
determined by KCPW. Likely participants will include KCPW, Jacobs and WDFW. Natural Waters
will be available to assist with the team's preparation of permit applications and answer
questions that arise during agency review'
Assumptions: Up to 16 hours is available for Task 2.6.
Task 2.7 Draft Hydraulic Basis of Design Memo
The results of the geomorphic, hydrologic, and hydraulic assessments will be summarized in a
Draft Basis of Design Memo. The memo will include a description of the physical characteristics
3lPage
