DHS-FEMA-EMPG-FY25 Page 46 of 50 Kittitas County, E26-241 Priority Area #2 4.10 Training Primary Core Capability Planning Build or Sustain Sustaining/Maintaining WORK PLANNED IDENTIFIED GAP/NEED ANTICIPATED PROJECT IMPACT Send EOC/IMT members to appropriate training to enhance competence in executing strategies and operational plans to achieve team objectives. 2024 Washington SPR p. 8 “Training gaps exist across all functional areas within this core capability. 44 percent of the necessary required training has not been conducted or is not currently available. Gaps include training deficits due to position turnover, lack of funds to support training opportunities, and the need to expand existing training opportunities.” The intended outcome is to give EOC/IMT members the opportunity to attend training opportunities to enhance the capabilities of our EOC/IMT response in a real-world incident. The impact of funding this project would give EOC/IMT members opportunities for EOC/IMT training that they would otherwise not have. Priority Area #3 4.12 Emergency Public Information and Education Primary Core Capability Community Resilience Build or Sustain Building WORK PLANNED IDENTIFIED GAP/NEED ANTICIPATED PROJECT IMPACT Provide education materials to the public on resilience, prevention, and recovery as it pertains to emergencies in Kittitas County. 2024 Washington SPR p.83 “Equipment gaps exist across all functional areas within this core capability. 36 percent of the necessary equipment for this capability does not exist or is not in place across the state. Gaps include lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate materials, lack of appropriate access and functional needs materials and communication methods, lack of multi-faceted education and awareness campaign material, lack of adequate assessment tools, and other equipment relating to the functional areas within this core capability.” Education of the public in preparedness is required to create a more resilient community. This project addresses the lack of multi-faceted education and awareness campaign material and lack of adequate assessment tools for the public. The intended outcome is to provide public education materials to the residents of Kittitas County.
