DHS-FEMA-EMPG-FY25 Page 46 of 50 Kittitas County, E26-241 <br /> <br />Priority Area #2 4.10 Training <br />Primary Core Capability Planning <br />Build or Sustain Sustaining/Maintaining <br />WORK PLANNED IDENTIFIED GAP/NEED ANTICIPATED PROJECT IMPACT <br />Send EOC/IMT members to <br />appropriate training to enhance <br />competence in executing strategies <br />and operational plans to achieve <br />team objectives. <br />2024 Washington SPR p. 8 “Training <br />gaps exist across all functional areas <br />within this core capability. 44 percent of <br />the necessary required training has not <br />been conducted or is not currently <br />available. Gaps include training deficits <br />due to position turnover, lack of funds <br />to support training opportunities, and <br />the need to expand existing training <br />opportunities.” <br />The intended outcome is to give <br />EOC/IMT members the <br />opportunity to attend training <br />opportunities to enhance the <br />capabilities of our EOC/IMT <br />response in a real-world incident. <br />The impact of funding this project <br />would give EOC/IMT members <br />opportunities for EOC/IMT <br />training that they would otherwise <br />not have. <br /> <br />Priority Area #3 4.12 Emergency Public Information and Education <br />Primary Core Capability Community Resilience <br />Build or Sustain Building <br />WORK PLANNED IDENTIFIED GAP/NEED ANTICIPATED PROJECT IMPACT <br />Provide education materials to the <br />public on resilience, prevention, and <br />recovery as it pertains to <br />emergencies in Kittitas County. <br />2024 Washington SPR p.83 “Equipment <br />gaps exist across all functional areas <br />within this core capability. 36 percent of <br />the necessary equipment for this <br />capability does not exist or is not in <br />place across the state. Gaps include lack <br />of culturally and linguistically <br />appropriate materials, lack of <br />appropriate access and functional needs <br />materials and communication methods, <br />lack of multi-faceted education and <br />awareness campaign material, lack of <br />adequate assessment tools, and other <br />equipment relating to the functional <br />areas within this core capability.” <br />Education of the public in preparedness <br />is required to create a more resilient <br />community. <br />This project addresses the lack of <br />multi-faceted education and <br />awareness campaign material and <br />lack of adequate assessment tools <br />for the public.
