Of these five collisions, three occurred when a vehicle was traveling
straight ahead, and two were parking related. One collision resulted in a
possible or minor injury and all were vehicle-only collisions. Four collisions
occurred on an icy roadway surface. TWo collisions were single-vehicle crashes
where drivers collided into a snowbank.
1 Possible or minor
collision
Of the 5 collisions:e
m
@a
All3 *o,"rorr"
lnvolved a vehicle
going straight ahead.
2
"our"rorr"Were parking-
related.
Were vehicle-
only collisions.
Shared Use Path
Speed limit reduction
Access Management
Crosswalk pavement
markings
Pedestrian lighting
RRFB
Corridor
Corridor
lntersection
Crossing
Crossing
Crossing
Not available
Not available
Not available
40%
42%
47%
$$$
$
$$
4 *or"ror,"
Occurred on an iry
roadway surface.
High speeds:
. Private parking lot is separated
from the Silver Fir Lodge by SR
905, resulting in frequent crossings
of the highway for lift access for
skiing and mountain biking.
. Crosswalk striping is not visible.
. Crossing signs are not up
to current standards.
$
$$
$$
Non-Collision Concerns
Additional concerns were identified in this area through public comments,
stakeholder feedback, and observation by the County and consultants.
Concerns include:
Source: SCJ,2025.
It is important to note that due to snow-plow activity within the Snoqualmie
Pass area, recessed plastic pavement markings are recommended for
channelization. Sufficient budget must be allocated for renewing pavement
markings for the proposed solutions to be effective.
* CRFS are approximated based on the data provided by the FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasures.
i costs are based on a preliminary engineer's estimate of magnitude.
2oo/o
Countermeasure Application Crash reduction factor" Cost levelt
