Of these 18 collisions, 15 collisions involved a vehicle
going straight ahead, while eight collisions involved a driver exceeding the
reasonably safe speed limit. One collision involved a vulnerable road user.
3 Possible or minor
collisions T KSt
Collision
Of the 18 collisions:
8 *or",or."
lnvolved a driver
exceeding the
reasonably safe
speed limit.
I
"oor"ro'lnvolved a
vulnerable road
user,
Shared Use Path
Roundabout
Corridor
lntersection
Not available
82%
$$
$$$$
15
"on,"ror'"lnvolved a
vehicle going
straight ahead.
. Intersection confusion due to signs
that are out of sight, sight distance
issues, unclear pavement markings,
and size of the intersection.
. Lack of pedestrian
connectivity between Su m mit
West and Alpental.
. Wide roadway is challenging
for pedestrians to cross,
encourages illegal parking, and
encourages high speeds.
5ource: 5CJ, 2025.
It is important to note that due to snow-plow activitywithin the Snoqualmie
Pass area, recessed plastic pavement markings are recommended for
channelization. Sufficient budget must be allocated for renewing pavement
markings for the proposed solutions to be effective.
' Washington Spatial Data portal, WSDOT - Traffic Counts (AADT) Current map,
httos://sisdata-wsdot.ooendata.arceis-com/datasets/wsdot-traffic-counts-aedt-current/
e\olore?loc {on=47.47798qa/"2c_12 1 4A9?860/^7 C1 6 35
t CRFS are approximated based on the data provided by the FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasures.
+ Costs are based on a preliminary engineer's estimate of magnitude.
Non-Collision Concerns
Additional concerns were identified in this area through public comments,
stakeholder feedback, and observation by the County and consultants.
Concerns include:
i,8, .F"e p, :i" i€ i: ll,e'ii isi,e r:s t6% 6%
Countermeasure Application Crash reduction factort Cost level+
