3| Impact
Response 3: Describe how you will promote your event/activity/facility to attract tourists.*
4| Collaboration
Response 2.1: Why would tourists travel to Kittitas County to attend your event/activity/facility?*
The Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame (ERHOF) museum offers a unique view into the history and culture of the Ellensburg Rodeo
and the Ellensburg western culture. From the history of the communities relationship with the local Native American Yakama
Indians, the building of the Rodeo and Fair grounds by local business men and volunteers to today’s modern rodeo and the
cowboys and cowgirls that have participated for over 100 years. Often children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews etc., come
to the museum looking for pictures and stories of family members who have participated in the Rodeo, Royal Court, Rodeo
Directors, Support Groups and Riding Groups, family members are thrilled when they see them in photo’s or some other
donated piece of memorabilia.
For the past 3 years the Indian Dancers have entertained our guests at the various Hall of Fame events to rave reviews.
2500 character limit
Response 2.2: Describe the prior success of your event/activity/facility to attract tourists.*
In the past we have had local inductees who bring family and friends from around the region and we have had out of state
inductees who attract family and friends from their place of residence, whether it be Oklahoma, Texas, and Oregon etc.
We continue to track guests to the museum, and have increased tours by local school teachers, and have had a request to
provide a tour for a group of about 15 – 20 ladies from the Jolly Neighbors club Thursday March 19, 2026. We track through
Online Ticket Sales (Eventbrite), through our guest book at the museum, head counts at first Friday and other events held at the
museum. Visitors from around the country and as far away as Australia, Ireland, South Africa and Tokyo have signed our guest
book. The museum averages 30 visitors each month who sign the guestbook, and of those about 20% are out of town guests.
We believe many others do not sign in even though we encourage this.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 2
Through a targeted ad campaign that would reach those who travel the northwest attending and participating in the many
Rodeos put on every year in our great northwest. In WA, OR and ID alone there are 28 PRCA (Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association)
Rodeo events that many participants will travel Interstate 90 and Interstate 82 in order to be at the various rodeos. In addition to
the PRCA there are 32 Northwest Pro Rodeo Association events. These events primarily take place from March through
September. If we are prepared to put ads in each of these rodeo programs and signage on the freeway exits to inform those
participants and fans of the Ellensburg Rodeo Museum and encourage them to visit Ellensburg a place that has been a part of
the rodeo experience for so many.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 3
