If your agency operates independently of this project application it may not be necessary to submit the entire agency budget. You must submit a budget which specifically pertains to the project/event for which you are requesting funding and adheres to the basic budget format shown below. For projects/events which are ongoing for more than one (1) year, please also submit actuals from the previous three (3) years of operations (need not be consecutive) for the project/proposal if applicable. For any claimed in-kind contributions valued at $500 or more and related to marketing/advertising, you must submit verifying documentation which assures the contribution will be provided. For instance, if you are claiming in-kind contributions in the form of advertising match, a binding contract itemizing the matching value and obligating each party must be provided. Much of the expanded advertising and marketing we have planned—including digital campaigns, statewide print placement, and out-of-county promotions—would have to be scaled back. This would limit our ability to grow attendance from beyond the 50-mile radius and reduce the overall tourism benefit of our productions. Another area directly affected would be accessibility. We have budgeted for annual licensing of closed-captioning software that allows us to provide one captioned performance per production, ensuring that hard-of-hearing patrons can fully enjoy live theatre in Kittitas County. Without funding support, we may need to postpone or cancel this initiative, which would be a significant setback in our efforts to make theatre more inclusive. Rising printing costs also pose a challenge. Posters, flyers, and programs are essential tools for both promotion and the visitor experience, but these costs have risen sharply in recent years. Without grant assistance, we may have to reduce the quality or quantity of print advertising and collateral available to tourists. As a last resort, cuts could extend to the productions themselves. This could include reducing the number of performances offered in a run or increasing ticket prices beyond what is desirable for accessibility and family affordability. Either option would directly limit our ability to welcome a broad mix of visitors and reduce the economic ripple effect of overnight stays, restaurant visits, and local shopping tied to theatre attendance. In short, funding allows us to amplify marketing, increase accessibility, and keep productions affordable and widely available.
