Response 4.3: Is there a host hotel for your event or grant project? If yes, list the hotel.*
5| Future Plans
Response 5: Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. Include any plans for ticket sales,
event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.*
No
Yes
The Ellensburg Rodeo has demonstrated remarkable staying power for more than a century, supported by strong ticket sales,
committed sponsors, and an engaged community. Our long-term strategy is to build on these strengths to ensure the event
remains financially sustainable while continuing to grow its tourism impact.
Ticket revenue is our primary cost-recovery model. Demand has consistently remained high, with most performances selling out
in advance. We are expanding online ticketing tools, early-bird promotions, and VIP experiences to increase per-capita spending
and encourage guests to secure seats earlier.
Corporate sponsorships and community partnerships provide essential financial and in-kind support. We work with national
brands, regional businesses, and local service clubs to underwrite performances, hospitality, and marketing campaigns. Many of
these partners renew year after year, and we continue to cultivate new sponsors to diversify our funding base.
Volunteerism is another cornerstone of sustainability. Hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year, reducing
operational costs and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Obtaining the support from the Consolidated Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (CLTAC) allows us to invest in expanding our
marketing budget—reaching broader audiences, strengthening advance ticket sales, and promoting longer visitor stays
throughout Kittitas County. These investments not only grow attendance but also help us achieve our future plans for self-
sustainability by driving earned revenue and reinforcing the Rodeo’s value as a countywide economic engine.
Finally, we reinvest proceeds into marketing, infrastructure, and programming to maintain the Rodeo’s reputation as one of
America’s premier professional rodeos. By balancing robust earned income with sponsorships, grants, and community support,
the Ellensburg Rodeo is well positioned to thrive independently while continuing to generate significant economic benefits for
Kittitas County.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 4
6| Additional Information
