Response 4.1: If your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other events,
how is this accomplished?*
Response 4.2: Describe how you will promote lodging establishments, restaurants, and business located in Kittitas County *
The Washington State Ski & Snowboard Museum (WSSSM) has cultivated strong partnerships that amplify our reach and help
attract tourists from across Washington and beyond. These collaborations show our credibility in the snow sports and tourism
community and provide trusted channels to expand awareness of our exhibits and events.
Primary Partners
• Dru Bru Brewery – Ongoing partner for multiple community events each year.
• The Summit at Snoqualmie – Extensive marketing partnership tying the museum to the region’s largest ski area.
• Commonwealth Restaurant – Event partner drawing diners into the museum.
Event & Program Partners
• Warren Miller Entertainment – Six years of sponsorship with WSSSM booths at film premieres in Seattle and Bellevue,
reaching thousands of snow sports enthusiasts.
• Crystal Mountain – New partner. Will participate in their Winter Stoke Event in Enumclaw.
• Powder Poobah – Very large newsletter to our target audience. Will do giveaways
• Edgeworks and others – Holds multi-day fall and winter mountaineering classes at the museum.
• Outdoors for All Foundation – Featured exhibit at WSSSM and booth at their annual Gala, expanding our adaptive recreation
reach.
Tourism & Hospitality Partners
• Suncadia Resort – Developing partnerships for hotel packages and heritage tourism promotion.
• Firehouse/The Pass Life/Laconia Market – New businesses at Snoqualmie Pass supporting cross-promotions.
• SkiBuddies (Northwest LGBT Winter Sports Club) – Partner in expanding inclusivity and visibility in the snow sports
community.
• CAMAH (Cascade Association of Museums, Arts & History) – Member organization of 20 groups in Kittitas County, with
WSSSM’s Executive Director serving as 2023 President and marketing lead.
Regional & National Partners
• National Nordic Museum – Joint ski jumping exhibit, extending our reach into broader cultural tourism.
• Skiing History Magazine – Promoted WSSSM to an international readership.
• PNSAA (Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association), Team Alpental Snoqualmie, City League Ski Racing, PNSA, Northwest
Winter Sports Foundation – Ongoing partners supporting athletes and programs, including the Washington specialty license
plate campaign.
• King County Search & Rescue and Ski Patrol Rescue Association – Safety and education partners reinforcing community ties.
• Central Washington Outdoor – Featured WSSSM on its website and social media, boosting tourism visibility.
2500 character limit
The Washington State Ski & Snowboard Museum (WSSSM) relies on strong partnerships with local businesses and
organizations to amplify our visibility, attract visitors, and support our volunteer team. At the heart of these collaborations is Dru
Bru Brewery, our closest neighbor and most consistent partner. Dru Bru works with us on community events year-round,
providing both space and cross-promotion that draw hundreds of visitors to Snoqualmie Pass and into the museum.
We have also expanded our volunteer incentive program through valued partners. Today, volunteers can choose a free meal at
Commonwealth Restaurant, redeem beer tokens from Dru Bru, enjoy coffee from Red Mountain Coffee, or even receive ski
lessons from The Summit at Snoqualmie in recognition of their service. These benefits help us recruit and retain the dedicated
hosts who greet visitors and enrich their museum experience.
WSSSM continues to strengthen hospitality partnerships. We have recently partnered with Suncadia Resort, a key tourism hub
in Kittitas County, and while initial efforts were slowed by staffing changes, we are optimistic about renewing this relationship.
The Summit Inn, located directly across the street, has not pursued a full marketing partnership but does provide signage
support for museum events.
Our events regularly include food and beverage collaborations with local restaurants such as Commonwealth, Dru Bru, and The
Firehouse/Laconia Market/Pass Life Space, as well as The Summit at Snoqualmie. These partnerships ensure that visitors
experience a full spectrum of local hospitality alongside the museum.
WSSSM also leverages digital and community networks to promote tourism. As a member of the Cascade Association of
Museums, Arts & History (CAMAH)—where our Executive Director, Kathy McDonald, previously served as President and
webmaster—we actively cross-promote with other cultural institutions across Kittitas County. Additionally, our website features a
dedicated Partners page, and the Central WA Outdoor logo is prominently displayed on our homepage, reinforcing WSSSM’s
place within the larger regional tourism network.
Together, these partnerships strengthen WSSSM’s visibility, provide meaningful benefits to our volunteers and guests, and
demonstrate our role as a well-connected driver of tourism in Kittitas County.
2500 character limit
