Do not proceed with Work affecting a facility’s operation without obtaining <br />Owner’s and Contractor’s advance approval of the need for and duration of <br />such Work. <br />I.Relocation of Existing Facilities: <br />1. During construction, it is expected that minor relocations of Work will <br />be necessary. <br />2. Provide complete relocation of existing structures and Underground <br />Facilities, including piping, utilities, equipment, structures, electrical <br />conduit wiring, electrical duct bank, and other necessary items. <br />3. Use only new materials for relocated facility. Match materials of <br />existing facility, unless otherwise shown or specified. <br />4. Perform relocations to minimize downtime of existing facilities. <br />5. Install new portions of existing facilities in their relocated position prior <br />to removal of existing facilities, unless otherwise accepted by <br />Contractor. <br />1.08 ADJACENT FACILITIES AND PROPERTIES <br />A. Examination: <br />1. After Effective Date of the Agreement and before Work at Site is <br />started, Contractor, and affected property owners and utility owners <br />shall make a thorough examination of pre-existing conditions including <br />existing buildings, structures, and other improvements in vicinity of <br />Work, as applicable, which could be damaged by construction <br />operations. <br />2. Periodic reexamination shall be jointly performed to include, but not <br />limited to, cracks in structures, settlement, leakage, and similar <br />conditions. <br />B. Documentation: <br />1. Record and submit documentation of observations made on examination <br />inspections in accordance with Article Construction Photographs. <br />2. Upon receipt, Owner will review, sign, and of documentation is to be <br />kept on file in field office. <br />3. Such documentation shall be used as indisputable evidence in <br />ascertaining whether and to what extent damage occurred because of <br />Contractor’s operations, and is for the protection of adjacent property <br />owners, Contractor, and Owner.
