Seed and fertilizer may be applied in one application. <br />D. Hydroseed all areas disturbed by Contractor, except for areas covered with <br />structures, rock, or pavements. <br />E. Apply by hydroseeding method on moist soil, but only after free surface water <br />has drained away. Prevent drift and displacement of mixture into other areas. <br />F. Application: <br />1. Prepare and apply slurry as follows: <br />Item Rate <br />Seed Mix 30 pounds per acre <br />Fertilizer 200 pounds per acre <br />Wood Cellulose Fiber Mulch 1,500 pounds per acre <br />Water As necessary <br />Tackifier 40 -60 pounds per acre <br />3.03 MULCHING <br />A. Apply uniformly on seeded areas. Do not apply mulch on seeded areas that <br />will be immediately covered with erosion control matting. <br />B. Application: Sufficiently loose to permit penetration of sunlight and air <br />circulation, and sufficiently dense to shade ground, reduce evaporation rate, <br />and prevent or materially reduce erosion of underlying soil. <br />1. Wood Cellulose Fiber: 1,500 pounds per acre. <br />3.04 EROSION CONTROL MATTING <br />A. Place on seeded slopes 3H:1V and steeper, staple/stake in place and with the <br />appropriate overlap in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction. <br />3.05 TACKIFIER <br />A. Can be applied on with mulch or after mulch is in place. <br />3.06 HYDROSEED MAINTENANCE <br />A. Contractor shall apply a second application of the specified fertilizer to each <br />hydroseeded area during the growing season that follows the growing season <br />in which each area was seeded.
