KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE ON-CALL <br />CLE ELUM TRANSFER STATION FRONT ENTRANCE DESIGN <br />DEMOLITION PW\JA\KITTCO02\ENTRANCE <br />02 41 00 - 2 JUNE 2023 <br />©COPYRIGHT 2023 JACOBS <br />1.04 REGULATORY AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Comply with Contractor’s Construction Health and Safety Plan at all times. <br />Demolition activities may encounter residential leachate, landfill gas and <br />landfill gas condensate, and solids, within pipes, valves, and backfill <br />materials. <br />1.05 DEMOLITION/RENOVATION PLAN <br />A. Demolition/Renovation Plan shall provide for safe conduct of the Work and <br />shall include: <br />1. Detailed description of methods and equipment to be used for each <br />operation. <br />2. The Contractor’s planned sequence of operations, including <br />coordination with other work in progress. <br />3. Procedures for removal and preparation of materials for disposal within <br />Owner’s designated disposal area. <br />4. Testing of capped or flanged system components to remain after <br />demolition is complete to ensure a proper seal is maintained. <br />1.06 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING <br />A. The Work of this Specification shall not commence until Contractor’s <br />Demolition/Renovation Plan has been approved by Engineer. <br />B. Include the Work of this Specification in the progress schedule. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXISTING FACILITIES TO BE DEMOLISHED OR RENOVATED <br />A. Owner Systems and Related Equipment: <br />1. Notify Engineer and Owner to turn off affected services at least <br />48 hours before starting demolition activities. <br />2. Remove existing system components as indicated and terminate in a <br />manner that seals and protects existing systems to remain as approved <br />by Owner. <br />3. When utility lines are encountered that are not indicated on Drawings, <br />notify Engineer and Owner prior to further work in that area. <br />4. Remove valve vaults and related equipment and deliver to a location as <br />determined by the Owner.
