2022
Improvements were completed along Kachess Lake Road at milepost 2.75. This removed the 36-inch CMP
and constructed an 18-ft wide box culvert, Bridge no. 13072 (OB). Stream channel work was completed
to improve conveyance as well as minimize required maintenance from spring runoff events.
Extensive preventative maintenance was completed on the North Thorp Highway Bridge (Bridge no.
97341) spanning the Yakima River. The work performed is to extend the life of the NSTM structure. The
paint system was removed, and a new paint system applied. Joint repairs and strip seals at the ends of
the bridge were also improved. Truss portals, which had been damaged from impact of oversize loads,
were repaired.
2021
Improvements were completed along North Fork Teanaway Road at mile post 1.36. This removed the 36-
inch CMP and 54-inch RCP and constructed a 40-ft precast concrete structure, Bridge no. 16301. Stream
channel work was also completed to realign the channel into the historic pathway.
2020
An old 48-in arch culvert on Bender Road over Whiskey Creek was replaced with a new three -sided precast
box culvert by a land development company. The structure was placed in 2019 and paving and guardrail
construction were completed in 2020.
Vantage Highway over Coleman Creek Bridge no. 89332 is a new pre -cast 27-foot-long flat slab bridge
that replaced two existing culverts, a CMP culvert, and a concrete box culvert. The removal of the two
culverts was initiated by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to eliminate the existing fish barrier.
With a portion of this project being sponsored by the Brian Abbot Fish Barrier Removal Board,
construction began in Sept. 2020 and concluded in Oct. 2020.
A new structure installed on Fairview Road over Coleman Creek, no.89146 (OB), replaced no.89141 (OB),
no. 89142 (OB) and no.89144 (OB). The project removed three existing box culverts and replaced them
with a single 18-ft precast box culvert. The structure, creek realignment, and road widening were all
completed in 2020.
Big Boulder Creek no.34350 is a 60-foot prefabricated modular steel bridge that replaced structure FLTPSI
on Forest Service Road 4330 that was load restricted and had a compromised foundation.
