DDD agrels to host a forum in each.region to familiarize <br />providers with the access lrovisions. WPAS agrees to make staff available as.presenters at <br />i"gio"alo*-s, and othenvise as mutually agreed tg with providers. DDD will distribute to <br />prSviders a sunmary of the access provisionl. This summary will-be prepared by WPAS, <br />'*A -iU be subject to the review and approval of DDD prior to clistribution. <br />Miscellaneous. <br />A. WpAS agrees that its staff shall not give medical advice and sh4i not gngage in the <br />oiacti"e oi mediEine. It is WPAS' intent aid purpose to give legal advice.. For example, <br />VpeS will not tell DDD consurners not to take medication or that medications are lwong <br />for them. WpAS will not discourage indMduals with developmental disabilities from <br />narticipatine in programs or activitiei. WPAS may explain DDD consumer legal lghts_ <br />ill"di"g tfi. ridtt io informed consent, their right io Ue told of the risks and benefits of <br />;;i;i; or kedical procedures, their riglt- to refuse to take medications and the <br />;;;;;d;i" foilow if the^DDD consumer doei not wish to take medications, and their right <br />io r.n r" t" participate in experimental programs or research, all as guaranteed r.rnder state <br />and federal law. <br />B.
