Harm Reduction Program Our Harm Reduction Program has been actively engaged in serving numerous residents of Kittitas County. Reflecting on the period since I assumed supervision of the program, I am continually impressed by our progress and growth. It is inspiring to see our team working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative environment. From initially operating one half -day per week to now providing services two full days per week, this growth is a testament to our dedication. Below, you will find a summary of key events in which our team participated. I would like to extend my appreciation to Lauren and Dora for their ongoing commitment and hard work within the Harm Reduction Program. Number of NaIoxane Distributed June July August Tota l 48 53 244 • On July 24th Dora tabled and distributed Naloxone, overdose prevention information and harm reduction resources at the Community Connect event at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds. • On August 5th, Lauren tabled and distributed Naloxone, overdose prevention information and harm reduction resources at the National Night Out event at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds. • August 8, Dora presented Overdose, Response and Naloxone at The Peers Rising Lunch & learn educating and distributing Naloxone. • August 27 was the International Overdose Awareness Event occurred at Hal Holmes Center. Lauren arranged for Dr Wright with KVH, Dr. Zuckerman from Comprehensive Healthcare, and Leo Reyes with Community Health of Central Washington (CHCW) Connect program to be a panel answering questions at this event. Additionally, Lauren invited Malia Lewis with Walla Walla's Blue Mountain Heart to Heart program to speak about the Washington Community Drug Checking Network and share how this information can be used to keep our communities safer. A participant of our harm reduction program also agreed to tell his story of recovery at this year's event after being invited for the past 2 years. This event was a great success. • Our Harm Reduction Program was invited to table at the upcoming CWU Take Back Day event on October 30th. We will be distributing Naloxone and other Harm Reduction Resources. • We received new signage boards, a small vaccine refrigerator, and log tags to have at our Harm Reduction Program to eventually offer vaccines there. These purchases were made by Kittitas County Health Network. • We are currently working on a distribution plan for the Naloxone Kiosks received from a Department of Washington State Grant. More information to come! Training and Professional Development On July 8tt, Cambron Walker, Rebekah Moon, Nea Alfaro and Audelia Martinez were trained to be able to accept Passport Applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. Our anticipated start date is end of September. All four will process applications with Audelia Martinez being the Passport Program Lead.
