Sidewalk to be <br />constructed on north side of <br />roadway only. <br />Block Grant – <br />Transportation <br />Alternatives <br />(STBGTA), <br />local funds <br />Sanders Road <br />Improvements <br />To accommodate the increase in <br />traffic along Sanders Road and <br />to link future developments to <br />the City of Ellensburg, the road <br />will need to be widened. Non- <br />motorized pathways will need <br />to be constructed for pedestrian <br />and bicycle use. This will allow <br />for a uniform roadway from <br />county to city limits. Work will <br />include widening and paving <br />the road, construction of <br />sidewalk, and installation of <br />drainage structures. <br />STBGTA funds, <br />local funds <br />2030 $400,000 <br />HSIP 2027 awarded <br />project <br />The Highway Safety <br />Improvement Program (HSIP) <br />is a federal program that allows <br />states, and the local <br />governments within them, to <br />target safety funds to their most <br />critical safety needs. The goal <br />of the program is to reduce fatal <br />and serious injury crashes, <br />following Washington State's <br />Strategic Highway Safety Plan <br />(Target Zero) and each <br />agency's local road safety plan. <br />WSDOT's programs for local <br />governments include the <br />County Safety Program, the <br />City Safety Program, and the <br />Railway-Highway Crossing <br />Program. <br />HSIP funds 2028-2029 $540,000 <br />Vantage Hwy Paving <br />Phase 3 <br />The Vantage Highway is a <br />major east/west corridor in the <br />Lower Kittitas Valley. Regular <br />roadway maintenance improves <br />roadway safety while <br />maintaining reliable <br />infrastructure.
