With all of these elements in place, the Ellensburg Rodeo Grandstands project is
exceptionally well -positioned for timely and successful execution. The combination of
advanced planning, secured funding, regulatory preparedness, and a skilled project team
sets the stage for completion in time for the 2026 rodeo season, while still allowing the
venue to host pre -season events in the summer. This forward -thinking approach
underscores the commitment to revitalizing a key community asset and preserving the
Legacy of one of the nation's most respected rodeos.
2. Risk Management
While the project is carefully planned, there are potential risks and challenges that could
impact its timeline and success. The primary risk is completing construction in time for the
next Ellensburg Rodeo and Kittitas County Fair.
Ris_k_Can_siruction De(ay_s
The project is estimated to take 9-10 months based on consultations with architects
and engineers experienced in stadium construction. However, unforeseen challenges
such as supply chain issues, labor shortages, or weather conditions could extend the
timeline.
Mitigation Strategy: To minimize delays, we will work with experienced contractors who
have a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines. We will also implement a phased
construction approach to ensure that critical components, such as seating and
infrastructure, are prioritized.
Risk: Limited Pre -Rodeo Eve t Time
We aim to fully open at least one month before the rodeo, but any setbacks could
reduce that timeline.
Mitigation Strategy: By maintaining a buffer period in our schedule, we can still
accommodate smaller events and preparation plans even if minor delays occur.
Additionally, we will ensure early procurement of materials and permits to prevent
administrative delays.
MjUIi*IlaTit%1
Cost overruns could occur due to fluctuating material prices or unexpected structural
requirements.
