Communicable Disease <br /> Communicable Disease Investigations <br /> Our Communicable Disease (CD)team remains actively engaged in managing notifiable conditions <br /> reported within Kittitas County.We conduct investigations, provide education, and collaborate on <br /> efforts to mitigate disease transmission. <br /> Below is data compiled by month for any case where an investigation was conducted or action was <br /> needed from KCPHD. Data includes cases of communicable disease, sexually transmitted <br /> infections (STI), animal bites, and out of county cases received. <br /> • March: 34 cases <br /> • April: 60 cases <br /> • May to present: 24 cases <br /> Outbreaks from March to present: <br /> • 1 COVID-19 outbreak in Long Term Care Facility <br /> We are diligently preparing for the possibility of a measles case or outbreak in Kittitas County. CD <br /> staff are collaborating closely with Lianne Bradshaw, Epidemiologist, and Kelly Bacon, Emergency <br /> Response Coordinator,to ensure our response efforts are thorough and well-equipped. <br /> Childhood Vaccinations <br /> Since February 28th,we have had 12 childhood vaccination clinics at KCPHD.These clinics are <br /> held weekly for half a day by appointment only.We have expanded our outreach efforts by <br /> distributing flyers to schools, local clinics, Kittitas Valley Hospital, and through our social media <br /> platforms. Providing an additional vaccination location for children will help increase overall <br /> childhood immunization rates in Kittitas County and contribute to reducing the spread of vaccine- <br /> preventable diseases such as pertussis and measles.We are pleased to offer this important <br /> service to residents of Kittitas County.The clinics are staffed by Whitney Wheelock, CMA, and Kate <br /> Johnson, BSN, RN. <br /> Additionally,we received an invitation to participate in Cle Elum/Roslyn School District's upcoming <br /> back-to-school night,where we will be providing all childhood vaccines to students.This event is <br /> scheduled for August 27th. <br /> In March,we had our annual Childhood Vaccine Program compliance site visit from the Washington <br /> State Department of Health, during which we exceeded all program requirements. <br /> Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention Program <br /> Harm reduction staff continue to actively engage with the community by providing information on <br /> Naloxone education and training, distributing Naloxone, and offering free Hepatitis C and HIV <br /> testing. <br /> Since March 1, 2025,we have distributed a total of 400 doses of Naloxone within the community. <br /> Additionally, 107 individuals have utilized our Harm Reduction services.We continue to participate <br /> in numerous outreach events throughout the county. <br /> 26 <br />
