Response 3: Describe how you will promote your evenUactivity/facility to attract tourists.*
Our membership list includes 267 people. When we include past donors and inlerested parties our mailing list is double that with
approximaiely 500 households with 33% mailed out of county and 20o/o out of state. Our email list is more extensive with an
additional 150 people. We snail mail a year-end newsleiter that includes a calendar of events for the upcoming year.
This year we began using Mail Chimp to email our monthly newsletier which includes advertising our events. All year we have
been collecting email addresses of interested non-members to add to our distribution list and we will continue to focus on this
aspect of promoting.
We hired a professional photographer and videographer for our three main events to assist us with our digiial marketing efforts.
We will continue to improve and plan on increasing our presence using video and social media. As a member of the Kittitas
County Chamber of Commerce and we have been utilizing iheir resources to assist us with sharing and adveriising.
Our area already sees a large number of tourists. We want to increase awareness of our unique local history and heritage sites.
To do this we plan on utilizing signage, printed materials such as brochures, and advertising through social media, print media,
and video. New to us this year was placing an ad in the Central Washington Visitors Guide published by the Daily Record and
Kittitas County Chamber.
2500 character limit
4l Collaboration
Response 4.'l: lf your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizationsr groups, or other events,
how is this accomplished?*
We are members of the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, CAMAH (Cascade Association of Museums, Arts & History), and
the group of non-profit organizations of Upper Kittitas County.
We partner and collaborate wiih over 60 businesses and organizations from both within and outside of Kittitas County. Most of
these partnerships and collaborations have happened by meeiing in person with ihe organizer or business owner. Our group of
volunteers have a broad reach and are deeply involved with our community which allows us to establish long lasting
relationships.
Partnering with the Order of Sons and Daughters of ltaly in America (OSDIA) Cle Elum Lodge to organize and host the UKC
Bocce Tournament provides an opportunity to build this event into an annual celebration of a long-standing tradition in our area
They are part of a network of 43 lodges in lhe State of Washinglon. Our goal is to continue to
grow this event.
We are proud to have a strong partnership with Central Washington University's Department of Anthropology & Museum Studies
and their Department of Special Collections and Digital Archives. Since 2017, we have utilized students and faculty to asslst us
with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Geographic lnformation System (GlS) mapping in Roslyn's Historic Cemeteries. This
allows students real world experiences and provides data for our use.
Networking has increased our reach io organizations outside of Kittitas County. lnvolvement with ihe Roslyn Cemetery has also
provided us with the unique opportunity to network, collaborate and partner with several organizations locaied outside Kiititas
County.
New this yea., we are creating a sponsorship plan to provide long term viabiliiy for our events.
