Monitoring Well B8 Plans and Specifications <br />Kitutas County Solid Wrote <br />2.1.4 Well Site <br />Well -site safeguards shall include keeping all materials covered with plastic sheeting, off the ground, <br />and ensuring that they are touched only with clean tools and gloves. Equipment or materials to be <br />inserted into the well borehole must not be allowed to touch noncovered ground surface. <br />2.1. S well Construction Records <br />The CONTRACTOR shall keep a daily written log of operations, including size and length of the casing <br />placed, character, depth and thickness of ell formations penetrated, causes of delays, and screen <br />locations. Duplicate copies of this logshall be furnished to the GEOLOGIST atthe end of each workday. <br />The CONTRACTOR will notify the GEOLOGIST of drilling condition changes and note these on the written <br />log including drill penetration rates, lithoiogy changes, and saturation. <br />2.1.6 Soil Samples <br />The CONTRACTOR shall assist the GEOLOGIST in the collection of soil samples recovered from the <br />drilling actions. The CONTRACTOR will retain continuous soil samples placed in bags recovered in 10- <br />foot intervals. The CONTRACTOR shall clearly mark sample bags at a minimum 5-foot intervals and <br />place the bags in order on plastic sheeting for review by the GEOLOGIST. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />delineate to the extent feasible any slough within the recovered sample cores. <br />2.1. 7 waste Soil / Refuse / Cuttings <br />The investigation -derived waste soil cuttings will be stockpiled on site and disposed of by the <br />OWNER. The CONTRACTOR shall place all unused soil cuttings into the stockpile following <br />confirmation by the GEOLOGIST. If the CONTRACTOR identifies additional cuttings or slough, these <br />shall be disposed of in the stockpile. Disposal of waste soil and cuttings will be the responsibility of <br />the OWNER. Refuse not meeting the requirements of acceptance criteria shall be disposed of off -site <br />by the CONTRACTOR at no incidental expense to the OWNER. <br />2.2 New Well Drilling <br />The CONTRACTOR shall drill and construct one 2-inch diameter well in accordance with the details <br />shown in the plan sheets and described in these Specifications using sonic drilling techniques with a <br />minimum borehole outer diameter of 6.375-inches in accordance with Chapter 173-160 Washington <br />Administrative Code (4-inches greater than the permanent casing diameter of 2.375-inches). The well <br />will be drilled through overburden, dipping Columbia River Basalt, and into the top of the Vantage <br />Interbed. Sheet E-2 displays the approximate location of the well. Sheet A-3 shows the approximate <br />drilling depth and construction requirements. Cross sections are included in Appendix C. <br />The well is anticipated to be drilled to approximately 200 ft bgs. Final depths and construction shall <br />be determined based upon field conditions. Measurement and payment for drilling and construction <br />shall be by linear vertical foot for the unit prices as detailed in Section 4. The well is designated as a <br />resource protection well requiring a resource protection well driller's license for installation. <br />February 2025 1553-1763-010 <br />
