Monitoring Well E8 Plans and Specifications <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste <br />Drilling and Well Construction <br />The CONTRACTOR shall conduct drilling using sonic drilling methods. The GEOLOGIST will be onsite <br />at all times during well drilling and constructlon work to assist the CONTRACTOR in decision making <br />and tracking progress of the work. Drilling and Well Construction Is being completed through dipping <br />(angled) basalt bedrock and sedimentary interbeds. Supplemental information regarding the geology <br />of the site is attached as Appendices B and C. <br />2.1 General Requirements <br />This Work extends to the entire landfill property, adjacent properties, including the staging area(s), <br />storage areas, haul routes, and other areas affected by the CONTRACTOR'S operations. <br />2, l , l Site Preparation <br />The OWNER will be responsible for site preparation prior to mobilization. The site preparation <br />requirements will be discussed during the Initial Site Inspection, The OWNER will complete site <br />preparation prior to mobilization of drilling the first well as discussed in the pre -construction meeting. <br />2.1. , 2 Tri rn-r ing and Cleanup <br />The CONTRACTOR shall, as directed by the GEOLOGIST, remove from the OWNER'S property and from <br />all public and private property, at the CONTRACTOR'S own expense, all temporary structures, rubbish, <br />and waste materials resulting from the CONTRACTOR'S operations. <br />Throughout the period of construction, the CONTRACTOR shall keep the site clean and free from all <br />rubbish and debris and shall promptly clean up all or any portion of the site when notified to do so by <br />the GEDLOGIST. Care shall be taken to prevent spillage on the roads over which hauling is done, and <br />any such spillage or debris deposited due to CONTRACTOR'S operations shall Immediately be cleaned <br />up. The CONTRACTOR shall promptly remove from any parts of the working area all unused materials. <br />Surplus earth, natural debris, and cuttings will be disposed of by the OWNER into the LPL. Construction <br />areas shall be left in a clean, neat and acceptable condition at the earllest time following completion <br />of that portion of Work. <br />Upon completion of the Work and prior to final inspection, the entire site of operations shall be cleared <br />of equipment, unused materials, and rubbish, so as to present a clean and neat appearance. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall also cleanup the development areas, landfill, material stockpiles, haul routes, <br />staging areas, storage areas, and any other areas the CONTRACTOR and their construction activities <br />have impacted to the GEOLOGIST'S or OWNER's satisfaction. <br />2, l .3 Site Restoration <br />At the conclusion of all work activity at the well, all drilling work, extra casing, trash, disposal of <br />materials used for decontamination, and other materials shall be removed from the site and properly <br />disposed of. These costs shall be incidental to other unit prices. Materials meeting the requirements <br />of acceptance criteria of the solid waste permit may be disposed of within the LPL at no cost to the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />February 2025 1553-1763-010 <br />
