Monitoring Well E8 Plans and Specifications Kittitas County Solid Waste Drilling and Well Construction The CONTRACTOR shall conduct drilling using sonic drilling methods. The GEOLOGIST will be onsite at all times during well drilling and constructlon work to assist the CONTRACTOR in decision making and tracking progress of the work. Drilling and Well Construction Is being completed through dipping (angled) basalt bedrock and sedimentary interbeds. Supplemental information regarding the geology of the site is attached as Appendices B and C. 2.1 General Requirements This Work extends to the entire landfill property, adjacent properties, including the staging area(s), storage areas, haul routes, and other areas affected by the CONTRACTOR'S operations. 2, l , l Site Preparation The OWNER will be responsible for site preparation prior to mobilization. The site preparation requirements will be discussed during the Initial Site Inspection, The OWNER will complete site preparation prior to mobilization of drilling the first well as discussed in the pre -construction meeting. 2.1. , 2 Tri rn-r ing and Cleanup The CONTRACTOR shall, as directed by the GEOLOGIST, remove from the OWNER'S property and from all public and private property, at the CONTRACTOR'S own expense, all temporary structures, rubbish, and waste materials resulting from the CONTRACTOR'S operations. Throughout the period of construction, the CONTRACTOR shall keep the site clean and free from all rubbish and debris and shall promptly clean up all or any portion of the site when notified to do so by the GEDLOGIST. Care shall be taken to prevent spillage on the roads over which hauling is done, and any such spillage or debris deposited due to CONTRACTOR'S operations shall Immediately be cleaned up. The CONTRACTOR shall promptly remove from any parts of the working area all unused materials. Surplus earth, natural debris, and cuttings will be disposed of by the OWNER into the LPL. Construction areas shall be left in a clean, neat and acceptable condition at the earllest time following completion of that portion of Work. Upon completion of the Work and prior to final inspection, the entire site of operations shall be cleared of equipment, unused materials, and rubbish, so as to present a clean and neat appearance. The CONTRACTOR shall also cleanup the development areas, landfill, material stockpiles, haul routes, staging areas, storage areas, and any other areas the CONTRACTOR and their construction activities have impacted to the GEOLOGIST'S or OWNER's satisfaction. 2, l .3 Site Restoration At the conclusion of all work activity at the well, all drilling work, extra casing, trash, disposal of materials used for decontamination, and other materials shall be removed from the site and properly disposed of. These costs shall be incidental to other unit prices. Materials meeting the requirements of acceptance criteria of the solid waste permit may be disposed of within the LPL at no cost to the CONTRACTOR. February 2025 1553-1763-010
