This event, strategically held at the Washington State Horse Park, provides a new and exciting reason for visitors to
travel to Cle Elum and the surrounding areas. By creating a large-scale, family-friendly light festival, we aim to attract both day-
trippers from nearby cities like Seattle and overnight visitors looking for a holiday getaway. The 100 acre Park is the ideal
location to showcase a large display.
The event is designed to complement the existing attractions in the region, encouraging attendees to explore local restaurants,
shops, and lodging. With potential transportation options between the park and downtown Cle Elum and Roslyn, visitors will be
more inclined to spend time and money in local businesses, further enhancing the economic impact. Partnerships with local
hotels and resorts will also play a crucial role in promoting multi-night stays, offering special packages that include event tickets
to drive additional tourism revenue.
Moreover, Winter Glow at the Park will complement and tag-team with other flagship holiday events in the region, creating a
cohesive seasonal draw for tourists. By aligning with existing events in Cle Elum, Roslyn, and surrounding areas, such as
Christmas in Cle Elum, it will enhance the overall holiday experience for visitors. This coordination will help attract an even
broader audience, encouraging visitors to extend their stays and participate in multiple holiday events, further driving economic
benefits. The event’s broad appeal ensures diverse participation, making it a cornerstone in building Kittitas County’s reputation
as a winter destination.
By fostering collaboration between the park, local businesses, and community organizations, this event has the potential to
create a sustainable boost in tourism, bringing lasting benefits to the local economy and increasing visitor spending during a
traditionally quiet season.
2500 character limit
Response 6.2: You may upload any supporting documents such as graphs, images, diagrams, marketing materials, etc.
You are allowed to submit up to 3 single page (US Letter) documents in JPG, PDF or TIFF format
unnamed (4).jpg 992.71KB
106551_1698447210754-Inlander.jpg 89.76KB
7| Previous Lodging Tax Grant Information
Response 7.1: Has your event received Lodging Tax funds in previous years?*
No, this event/project has not previously received Lodging Tax Funding
Yes, 1 year previous
Yes, 2 years previous
Yes, 3 years previous
Yes, 4 or more years previous
Response 7.2: Overall Attendance *
Past Actual *Projected *
0 20,000
Response 7.3: Number of people travelling more than 50 miles for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
0 17,000
Response 7.4: Number of people traveling from outside WA State for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
0 10,000
