Response 6.1: Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your project and its benefit to tourism. Event Growth and Popularity: Junk-tiquen in the Burg has cultivated a significant following among both shoppers and vendors. Our vendor spaces are fully booked, and we maintain a waiting list, indicating strong demand. Despite setbacks from COVID-19, we are committed to regaining our momentum and continuing our growth trajectory. Recognition and Awards: • In 2018, Flea Market Gardens recognized Junk-tiquen as one of the top vintage shows to attend, as voted by readers. • In 2017, Flea Market Décor named Junk-tiquen one of the 12 top vintage markets in the United States. Explanation of application: This application is one application for Junk-tiquen but serves two events. The vendor line ups are different for each show. In the beginning, it was encouraged to complete two separate applications, but later I was directed to complete one application since the events are both Junk-tiquen but held at two different times. As of the date the application is due, we have not yet held our fall show for this year so the budget for 2024 is not complete. Not all costs are in nor any income for the fall show. It appears that the year is at a loss, but it will not end up that way. Importance of the Grant: The grant has played a crucial role in our success, enabling us to expand our advertising efforts and enhance the overall experience. With continued support, we can further develop our marketing strategies to attract even more shoppers to our county. Benefits of Continued Support: • Increased Visitor Attendance: Expanding our advertising will draw in more out-of-area shoppers, boosting attendance and enhancing the event's vibrancy. • Encouraging Overnight Stays: More visitors from outside the region will likely lead to increased overnight stays, benefiting local accommodations and services. • Boosting Ancillary Spending: Higher attendance will increase ancillary spending in the county, positively impacting local businesses. • Enhancing Community Experience: A larger, more diverse crowd will enrich the event for both attendees and local residents, creating a more engaging community atmosphere. We are immensely grateful for the opportunities that the grant process provides. Receiving this grant again would be instrumental in allowing Junk-tiquen in the Burg to thrive, ensuring its status as a premier vintage market while contributing to the economic vitality of Kittitas County.
