Section lll: Shelter Operations <br />A. Shelter Administrative Kit <br />The Shelter Coordinator will provide a Shelter Administrative Kit. lnside the Admin Kit, you <br />will find the items needed to operate the shelter. <br />Items in the kits include: <br />L. Volunteer Handbook - Provided to assist with guidance while the shelter is open. ln <br />the back of the handbook is contact information that may be needed during <br />operation. <br />2. Shelter instructions -This may be a special section within the provided copy of the <br />handbook with specific instructions or "need to know" items relating to a layout, <br />maintenance procedures or other information. <br />3. Emersencv p hone numbers - lncludes the phone numbers of the Volunteer <br />Coordinator. There may also be pertinent information about social services, taxi <br />service or hospital facilities. <br />4. lnk Pens <br />5. Name tass - Should be worn by all volunteers. <br />6. Log in sheets for suests and volunteers - lt is imperative that these two forms be filled <br />out correctly and that the guidelines provided later in this handbook for these forms <br />be followed. <br />7. Flashliehts <br />8. Shelter Logbook - This is also a very important part of the shelter record that should <br />be kept according to guidelines provided later in this handbook.
