B. Shelter Volunteer Sign-ln Sheet <br />The Volunteer Sign-ln sheet is the required form for volunteers to use each night they sign in <br />to work a shelter shift. lt is most important that this form be filled out correctly. Please do not <br />fill out any parts of the form that are not mentioned in the instructions. <br />Volunteers will fill out <br />L. Volunteer Name - Write your name in the box. Do not sign, it must be legible. <br />2. Date & time checked-in as well as the time you subsequently checked-out. <br />C. Volunteer No-Shows <br />It is important that volunteers who register for a shift arrive at the shelter on time and ready <br />to work the shelter. lt is understood that emergencies, illnesses, and other events do happen <br />which would make it impossible or hazardous to work a shift. <br />lf a volunteer does not show up for their scheduled shift, or the volunteer knows in advance <br />that they will not be able to make their shift contact the Shelter Coordinator. <br />D. Shelter Guest Log-ln Sheet <br />The Shelter Guest Log-ln Sheet serves many purposes: <br />o Allows for a quick count of guests that are in the shelter. <br />o Keeps track of times guests arrive and leave. <br />o Ensures that guests understand the basic rules of the shelter. <br />r Serves as the sign out sheet to record that a guest has retaken possession of their <br />belongings. <br />Procedures for filling out the Guest Log-ln Sheet <br />1. As new guests enter the facility, a volunteer will read the rules listed on the Shelter <br />Log aloud to the guest. Some people have literacy problems and may not be able or <br />willing to tell you about it. <br />2. Once the rules have been read, the volunteer will write down the guest's name, the <br />time they checked in, and indicate whether they are new or returning for the current <br />season. No identification is necessary. <br />3. New Guests are required to sign the Guest Guidelines form, and a staff member will <br />collect all or as much information as possible on the CE form.
