DEPARTMENT OF <br />ECOLOGY <br />State of Washington <br />Agreement No. WRYBIP-2325-MCPWD-00058 <br />WATER RESOURCES YAKIMA BASIN INTEGRATED PLANNING AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />THE STATE OF WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY <br />AND <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />This is a binding Agreement entered into by and between the state of Washington, Department of Ecology, hereinafter <br />referred to as "ECOLOGY," and Kittitas County, hereinafter referred to as the "RECIPIENT," to carry out with the <br />provided funds activities described herein. <br />GENERAL INFORMATION <br />Project Title: <br />Total Cost: <br />Total Eligible Cost: <br />Ecology Share: <br />Recipient Share: <br />The Effective Date of this Agreement is: <br />The Expiration Date of this Agreement is no later than: <br />Project Type: <br />Project Short Description: <br />Lower Kittitas Reach Design and Agency <br />Coordination <br />$905,000.00 <br />$415,000.00 <br />$415,000.00 <br />$0.00 <br />11/01/2024 <br />03/31/2027 <br />Yakima Basin Integrated Planning <br />Kittitas County will continue to advance floodplain restoration designs for a 595-acre floodplain restoration project and <br />will lead a multi -agency process to coordinate floodplain land stewardship and management among public entities in the <br />Lower Kittitas Reach. <br />Project Lon, Description: <br />The Kittitas Reach is one of five alluvial Yakima Basin floodplain reaches studied by Stanford et al. (2002). This <br />foundational study established floodplain restoration as critical for restoring Yakima Basin salmon stocks. In the Kittitas <br />Reach, the researchers noted strong connectivity between the river and its floodplain aquifer. Recently, Kittitas County <br />has acquired over 500 acres of land in the Lower section of the Kittitas Reach, which complements another 700 acres <br />owned by other public entities. Kittitas County has recently worked with project partners to evaluate restoration <br />alternatives and develop conceptual design drawings for designs for a 595-acre floodplain restoration project associated <br />
