proposed date to the first Friday in the month of May with twelve (12) findings of <br />fact. <br />In their findings, the Planning Commission discussed that the proposed date of <br />March 31St doesn't allow enough time for the community to submit applications <br />and that the first Friday of the month of May provides enough time for the <br />community to submit applications and adequate time for staff to process these <br />applications. <br />2. Docket Item 2024-02 — This item was proposed by KCCDS staff. This item proposes <br />amending KCC 17.15 land use table footnote Ws 14 & 48 pertaining to Type 1 <br />LAMIRDs. Staff proposes changing footnotes 14 & 18 regarding the maximum square <br />footage for new & existing retail or food services to not exceed a footprint greater than <br />10,000 sq. ft. <br />• On September loth, 2024, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing to <br />consider Docket Item 2024-02 for the 2024 Annual Amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan and unanimously recommended approval (4-0) to change the <br />proposed footnotes within KCC 17.15 Land use table with nine (9) findings of <br />fact. <br />• In their findings, the Planning Commission finds that the increase to the square <br />footage will provide compliance and create consistency with state law pursuant to <br />the approved Senate Bill 6140. <br />3. Docket Item 2024-03 — This item was proposed by KCCDS staff to update its land use <br />and zoning maps to reflect approved annexations that have been passed by the City of <br />Ellensburg in 2024. <br />• On September loth, 2024, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing to <br />consider Docket Item 2024-03 for the 2024 Annual Amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan and unanimously recommended approval (4-0) to accept the <br />City of Ellensburg's approved annexations and update the zoning maps <br />accordingly with eight (8) findings of fact. <br />4. Docket Item 2024-04 — KCCDS & Auditor Staff collectively propose to update Kittitas <br />County Code 2.56, 14, 12, & 16 allowing surveys to submitted and recorded on paper <br />instead of mylars. <br />• On September 1 Oth, 2024, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing to <br />consider Docket Item 2024-04 for the 2024 Annual Amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan and unanimously recommended approval (4-0) to allow the <br />option for surveys to be recorded on paper or mylar with nine (9) findings of fact. <br />• In their findings, the Planning Commission finds that the option to record surveys <br />should include the ability to be recorded on both, paper and mylar. <br />BOCC 2024 Annual Docket Study Session Staff Report Page 2 <br />October 22°d, 2024 <br />
