a � <br /> a <br /> s ycj <br /> rsas A° <br /> STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE <br /> 1011 Plum Street SE•PO Box 42525 •Olympia, Washington 98504-2525•(360) 725-4000 <br /> www.commerce.wa.gov <br /> April 17,2024 <br /> County of Kittitas County <br /> 411 N Ruby Street Suite 2 <br /> Ellensburg,WA 98926 <br /> RE:2026 Growth Management Act Periodic Update Grant <br /> Greetings, <br /> We are pleased to inform you that$350,000 has been reserved for Kittitas County as a grant to assist in completing your work in <br /> reviewing and, as needed,revising your comprehensive plan and development regulations.Please register here to join us on April 22, <br /> 2024 at 1:00 PM for a drop-in session for questions about PUG applications. <br /> This funding is a non-competitive formula grant based on population size.Under RCW 36.70A.130(5)(b)and the Growth <br /> Management Act,Kittitas County must complete review of its comprehensive plan by June 30,2026. <br /> Funding is appropriated by the legislature following the biennial budget,one-half of your GMA Update Grant funding is currently <br /> available,or$175,000 is available to reimburse related review and update project costs from July 1,2024 to June 30,2025.The <br /> second half of this total award,or$175,000 will be available in your grant agreement for the period of July 1,2025 to June 30,2026. <br /> Commerce will sign a grant agreement with you in the upcoming month.This letter confirms that all related GMA update project costs <br /> incurred by your jurisdiction,beginning July 1,2024,will be eligible for reimbursement.Therefore,you will not need to delay work <br /> on the update grant until the contract is signed. <br /> In addition to this financial assistance,Growth Management Services will continue to provide technical assistance for you during this <br /> periodic update process,until your scheduled update deadline and our regional planners are ready to assist you with any questions. <br /> In order to receive this funding,please complete and submit the GMA Update Grant Application materials.You can apply directly via <br /> an online form using this link.Please pay close attention to the instructions.You can also find application materials on the Growth <br /> Management Services grants webpage located here.Please submit your online application no later than September 30,2024.We will <br /> begin creating your contract and finalizing your Scope of Work as soon as we receive it. <br /> If you have questions regarding this grant program or receiving technical assistance regarding your update,please contact Deanah <br /> Watson,at Deanah.Watson@Commerce.wa.gov. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Dave Andersen,AICP <br /> Managing Director,Growth Management Services <br /> cc: Deanah Watson <br />
