BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br /> STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> RESOLUTION NO.2024- <br /> AUTHORIZING THE SUPPORT OF KITTITAS COUNTY'S WASHINGTON STATE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE 2026 PERIODIC UPDATE GRANT APPLICATION <br /> WHEREAS: Kittitas County is required to update its Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update by 2026 per <br /> the Growth Management Act(GMA)RCW 36.70A.; and <br /> WHEREAS: Washington State Department of Commerce has informed Kittitas County that Three <br /> hundred and fifty thousand dollars($350,000.00)has been reserved and appropriated by <br /> the Legislator for Kittitas County; and <br /> WHEREAS: Kittitas County will be issued a Periodic Update Grant(PUG)through the Washington <br /> State Department of Commerce; and <br /> WHEREAS: Three hundred and fifty thousand dollars($350,000.00)grant funding are appropriated by <br /> the legislator following the biennial budget with one-half($175,000.00)of the GMA <br /> update grant funding available beginning July 1,2024,to June 30, 2025, and the second <br /> half($175,000.00) of funding available beginning July 1, 2025 to June 30,2026; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, <br /> Washington,in the best interest of the public, does hereby support Kittitas County's Washington State <br /> Department of Commerce periodic update grant application and scope of work to facilitate Kittitas <br /> County in the periodic review and update necessary to meet the requirements of the Growth Management <br /> Act. <br /> DATED this_day of July 2024, at Ellensburg,Washington. <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br /> Attest: <br /> ❑ Clerk of the Board-Julie Kjorsvik <br /> Laura Osiadacz,Vice-Chairman <br /> ❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board-Mandy Buchholz <br /> Cory Wright,Commissioner <br />
