From the early pioneers to the modern-day <br />Olympians and equipmenl, visitors can explore the stories, artifacts, and <br />memorabi,ia that showcase the region's vibrant snow sports cullure. <br />2. Discover the beauty of the Pacific Northwest: Nestled amidst the breathtaking <br />landscapes of Washington State, the museum is located in an area known for its <br />stunning natural beauty. The ski resort receives over a half miillon rrisitors every year <br />with many rnore driving across the Pass. Visitors can combine a visit lo the museunr <br />with outdoor adventures, such as skiing. snowboarding. and hiking, io fully <br />experience the sp{endor of the Paciflc Northwesl. <br />3. Engage in hands-on exhibits: The museum provides interactive exhibits that allow <br />visitors lo engage with the hisiory and culture of skiing and snowboarding. With <br />videos jn each exhibit, visitors (and especially kids) can learn from watching and not <br />lust reading. We have 4 different levels of Scavenger Hunts at the museurn and iun, <br />retro prizes ior the kids. <br />4. Events and Comnrunity Space: WSSSM is an ideai event space with lofty ceilings. <br />concrete fioonng, lechnicai amenities, and great views. Organizations like REI and <br />Edgeworks {using museunr for multiple days per week an lhe winter for winter <br />mounlaineering classes), communily meetings (for locai non-profits and elecied <br />officials). birthday parties (a surprise etlgagenlenl party) and oiher private groups <br />and individuals have utiiized the museum lor their own events and meelings. <br />5. Supporl a non-profit organization: By riisiting WSSSM, tounsts can cont!'ibute to a <br />woithy cause. The museum is a non-prr:fit organjzation dedicated io preseruifig the <br />heritage oi skiing and snowboarding in Washington State. Aboui 12% of visitors report an orrernigtrt stay <br />ln 2Q23. the museum priorilized the launch of our new Snowboarding Exhibit. We <br />helcl a pady for about 120 people io celebrate this event. Reporters fronr The Seattle <br />Times and King5 attended {he event. <br />For the 2nd year in a row, WSSSM parlnered with ski mountaineei;ng event Ve*Fest <br />to host an aprds-event talk and party. This event engaged about 70 people. <br />For ihe first time in 2023, WSSSM partnered with Pacwest Banked Slalom (a very <br />popular snowboarding competition a! Hyak/Surnnrit East) to host a iegistration pre- <br />party and raffle.
