Response 2.2 *
Application Questions: Part 2
3l lmpact
Descriire the prior success oi your eveni/a.liviiy:facili!v in eltrecticn rou.isls.
ln 2018 and 2019 our attendance was around 1200 attendees over 7 performances,
averaging approximately 171 per performance. Our July 2022 production of Mamma
Mia sold a total of 2BB5 tickets over 8 performances, and was bit of a "unicorn" as
far as attendance. ln 2023 for "9 to 5 the Musical" we went 3 weekends instead of 2,
and held 10 performances. Our total attendance was 1746 for an average of 174 per
performance. This puts 2023 right in the mix of normal attendance for our summer
produciion.
With all pre-sale tickets online, we have accurate zip code info for 91.4% of
attendees. We did not collect zip codes with cash-atthe-door transactions. We know
that approximately 82.3% of atiendees were from Kittitas County this past year,
15.4% traveled more than 50 nriles in Washington . and 2.3ola were from out of state.
We also sent out post-show surveys via email to all ticket purchasers. Of those that
responded, 79.9% indicated they were local, 10.9% indicated they were from
Western Washington, and the rest from around the state. ln addition. we know local
attendees often buy tickets for out-of{own familylfriends, so actual number of
travelers is likely higher than lhe 17.7ok.
See data below (see supplemental attachment for detailed tickel iocations)
Zip Code Location breakdown - 2023 lickei Purchases (data for 1596 out af 1746
tickets sold)
Kitiitas County = B2.3to (13'14 tickets)
Central & Eastern Washington = 6.3% (100 tickets)
Western Washinglon = 9.1o/o (145 tickets)
Out of state = 2.3oh (37 tickets)
lf we apply those percentages to our total number of tickets sold we can reasonably
estimate that 268 altendees were from Vy'ashington outside of Kiititas County, and
40 were from Out of State = 308 attendees from grealer than 50 miles.
Current information that is county specific is hard to find, based on Dean Runyarr
Reporl 2017, lf 35'k ot these stay irr hotels/moteis that would be approximately 117
paid lodging nights as a result of the 2023 event.
Using the calculation method described above we would estimate of the 308 visitors
traveling more than 50 miles, 28% would visit for the day only. and 37% would stay
overnight or for ihe weekend in a private home with friends and family.
2500 characler liilirt
