(Ord. 2015- <br />2015) <br />Chapter 12.7 <br />BRIDGES AND MAJOR DRAINAGE STRUCTURES* <br />Sections <br />12.07.010 Design Standards. <br />12.07.020 Structure Inspections. <br />* Formerly 12.60; renumbered by Ord. 2004.13, 2004 <br />12.07.010 Design Standards. <br />A. All bridges and major drainage structures serving public or private roads and driveways <br />shall conform to KCC 12.01.110 <br />B. Bridge and major drainage structure clear width shall accommodate the full width of the <br />traveled lanes and shoulders of approach roads. Bikeway and pedestrian walkways shall <br />be provided where justified. <br />C. All roadway structures must be designed in accordance with applicable WSDOT design <br />manuals or AASHTO design guidelines. All new bridges and major drainage structures <br />shall meet a minimum design load structural capacity of HL-93, or as required by KCC <br />20.02.050. The load rating for privately owned bridges shall be posted as required <br />by KCC 20.02.050. <br />D. All box culverts and bridges shall have the year of construction permanently indentured <br />on the downstream headwall face in legible numbers. The numbers shall be 3" high by <br />1-1/2" wide by approximately 3/8" deep in the headwall face. <br />E. All bridge and major drainage structures shall be designed by a professional civil <br />engineer licensed in the State of Washington. <br />F. Foundation designs shall be based upon the recommendations of a qualified <br />geotechnical engineer. These recommendations shall be documented in the <br />geotechnical report. <br />G. Bridge and major drainage structure waterway opening designs shall conform to the <br />parameters of the applicable WSDOT design manual, AASHTO design guidelines, and <br />the guidelines and regulations of any agency, such as the Washington Department of <br />Fish and Wildlife and Army Corps of Engineers. <br />H. Bridges and major drainage structures that function as a driveway must meet the <br />standards set forth in the most current version of the International Fire Code for <br />minimum width and load as required by KCC 20.02.050, <br />(Ord. 2015-010. 2015) <br />12.07.020 Structure Inspections. <br />
