IntergovernmentalAgreementminimumnumberofhoursperyear.Seethenotebelow.MinimumPatrolHourGoalsBasedonAgencySize•Smallagencies-133hours•Mediumagencies-255hours•Largeagencies-436hoursNOTE:StateParksrecognizesthatWashingtonStateexperiencesadiverseboatingseason.Variousareasofthestatehaveincreasedboatingactivitiesduetorecreationfishing,huntingandpleasurecrafting.Becauseofitsdiverselandscapesandseasons,StateParksacknowledgesthatthetraditionalpeakboatingseasonremainsduringthetimebetweenMemorialDayandLaborDaybutisnotexclusivetothattimeframe.StateParkshascollecteddataforpatrolhoursperformedbyallparticipatingoveraperiodofyearsandhasestablishedtheaverageboatloghoursforagenciesbasedonjurisdictionpopulationsizeaccordingtotheU.S.Census.PatrolhourscanbeacombinationofBoatLogandRamp-sidehours.Patrolhoursisconsideredacriticalmetric.ItisusedbyStateParkstodetermineifanagencyiscomplyingwiththeminimumrequirements.Failingtoachievetheminimumnumberofhoursofpatrol(basedonsize)couldbeafactorindeterminingineligibilityforvesselregistrationfees.ExamplepatrolscheduleBoatPatrolScheduleMonTueWedThurFriSatSunPatrolHours#ofOfficers/Deputies#ofVesselsPatrolSeasonBeginningDatePatrolSeasonEndingDateEnforcementParticipatingagenciesmustenforcesafetyequipment,vesseloperation,noiselevel,navigation,harborimprovements(asauthorizedandplacedthroughlocalordinances),andregistrationlawsasspecifiedinTitle88RCW,andasspecifiedinlocalcodesorordinances.AgenciesmustalsodocumentandreportthenumbersofwarningsandcitationstheyissueforeachtypeofboatingviolationintheSummaryofActivityReport--exceptthoseissuedthroughSECTOR.Page59of64
