We will be utilizing the recommer:dations from the
Arnett Muldrow market analysis and downtown master plan to continue our strategrc
messaging to travelers that are considering visiting Roslyn. Roslyn draws visitatjon
frot'n the hrstory buff to the recreationist, and we work to educale them on why to
visit our downtown core and beyond, and how to respectfully do so. lf the Roslyn
Downtown Association uses a conservative average annual number of visitors at
215 perweek (more during peak season. less during slow season) to acconrnrorlate
for an average throughout the year and calculates at 25% staying overnight {30% of
travelers are leisure travelers perthe tourism office). 215 travelers x 23% (increase
statistic fronr Anrett Muldrow study) x 52 weeks = 2.571 with 25ok staying overnight
= 643 annual hotel stays. plus estimated hotel stays.643 annual hotel stays x121.74
(avg daily rate: STAR Reportforthe county accommodations) = $78..1 05 n hotel
spending.
2500 ch,rra.ie. lr11lt
Response 2-2 *ilgscrille !lle prior sUrcess ol yout eve,tlr'acii\_;iiyfa0lity iil aliraaltort lo!rsis.
According to event survey results. over half were visitirrg from 50 miles away or
more. and we foresee this statistic to continue inlo 2022 and beyond. Our marketing
to travelers has ramped up in 2021. developing our lnstagram. and growing it from 0
followers up by 87,800% to over 880 YOY and our Facebook audrence by76%
YOY- where we share the attractions and business offerings of our community.
The Kittitas County Chamber has done an outstanding job tracking the data and
guiding the RDA's efforis. The Chamber of Commerce and RDA will continue to do
surveys. review google analytics, sales comparisons. and tax recetpts compatisons
to verify future data.
These are nunrbers provided to tell you the response of Roslyn's story. and the
growth in interest from travelers to learn tnore about it. Yet, we also have everyday
successes throughout the year that we get to help influence travelers. and
encourage revisitation. Our success is the success of each business owner
downtown. and economic development in the county as a whole.
Roslyn Dowrrtown Association is a Washington State Marn Street designated
comnrunity, and we embrace the full tourist potential and experience nationally. RDA
hosted events and provided additional support to other local events for numerous
community groups and business owners over the years. and it is our missron to
continue this work, while keeping up with the growth of our fast-developing region.
Through accurate promotion and destination marketing efforts, we can continue to
tell a compelling story and stay consistent with our year over year growth in
attractirrg travelers.
2500 characie. linlil
Application Questions'.
