BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO 2022- if Z, <br />DEMONSTRATINGTHE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUPPORT FOR AiRPORT AID <br />APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND THE WASHINGTON STATE <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AVIATION DIVISION FOR BOWERS FiELD AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE AIRPORT DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE AIRPORT AID APPLICATIONS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County is currently working to finalize the Environmental Assessment (EA) supporting the <br />Airport Capital Improvement Plan; and <br />WHEREAS: further wetland mitigation design is needed to meet the FAA requirements for project completion <br />requiring additional funding; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County intends to submit Airport Aid Applications to the Federal Aviation Administration <br />(FAA) and Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation (WSDOT) for a wetland <br />mitigation design grant, supporting the Airport Capital improvement Plan; and <br />WHEREAS: The current anticipated total project funding is estimated to be $200,000; and <br />WHEREAS: FAA requires local sponsors of airports to provide a 10% match to all awarded grants, and <br />WHEREAS: WSDOT may be able to assist Kittitas County meeting grant match obligations by providing half of <br />the local match (equalto5%); and <br />WHEREAS: The Airport Funding Application requires that funding applicants submit a Resolution of Support <br />from the Board of County Commissioners, stipulating that local matching funds have been budgeted <br />for the project; and <br />WHEREAS: The Airport's portion of the matching funds for this project (without WSDOT funding assistance) is <br />estimated at approximately $20,000.00, to be reserved in the Airport's fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners declares it be in the <br />best interest of Bowers Field Airport, and does hereby support the grant match funding request supporting the wetland <br />mitigation design and authorize the Airport Director to execute the Aid Application; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners have budgeted fiords in the <br />amount of approximately $20,000.00 to match funding for the project. <br />ADOPTED this 9"' day of May 2022, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />CLERK OF THE BOARD <br />
