KITTITAiB COiTNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS Mark Cook, Director K T MS(OVNTV REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS SUPPORTING CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL DESIGN FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE 07101 LIBERTY ROAD OVER SWAUK CREEK All submittals received after 5:00 PM Local Time, on May 26, 2022, will be discarded The existing load restricted bridge (no. 0710 1) along Liberty Road spanning Swauk Creek requires replacement. The project will include replacing the existing bridge, guardrail, road approaches and shoulders all while maintaining access to the community of Liberty and surrounding areas. All improvements will need to meet current WSDOT design standards. Time is of the essence. The United State Forest Service is waiting on the bridge replacement to remove dead timber that currently provides significant risk to the community of Liberty. The work to be performed by the consultant consists of preparing preliminary engineering including but not limited to planning, environmental permitting, determination of right of way needs and plan preparation, project management, structural engineering, geo technical engineering, traffic engineering, civil engineering, 100% design plans, specifications and estimate package for the replacement of the structure described. The selected firm will be expected to start on the project upon award and deliver a complete WSDOT approved Plans Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) package ready for advertisement for construction by July 31, 2023. The County reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for any subsequent phases (such as right of way or construction) associated with this project. Public Works has been assigned a sixteen (16) percent Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal for the design phase of this critical bridge replacement. PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTAL: If you wish to be considered for work under this SOQ, submit a sealed envelope to Kittitas County Public Works, at 411 N. Ruby St. Suite 1, Ellensburg WA 98926 by 5:00 pm local time on May 26, 2022. Submittals shall include a one-page cover letter with the firm name and contact information. Submittals shall also include five copies of your Statement of Qualifications describing the firm's or team's ability to professionally provide the requested services.
