KITTITAiB COiTNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Mark Cook, Director <br />K T MS(OVNTV <br />REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS SUPPORTING CIVIL AND <br />STRUCTURAL DESIGN FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE 07101 LIBERTY ROAD <br />OVER SWAUK CREEK <br />All submittals received after 5:00 PM Local Time, on May 26, 2022, will be discarded <br />The existing load restricted bridge (no. 0710 1) along Liberty Road spanning Swauk Creek requires <br />replacement. The project will include replacing the existing bridge, guardrail, road approaches and <br />shoulders all while maintaining access to the community of Liberty and surrounding areas. All <br />improvements will need to meet current WSDOT design standards. Time is of the essence. The <br />United State Forest Service is waiting on the bridge replacement to remove dead timber that currently <br />provides significant risk to the community of Liberty. <br />The work to be performed by the consultant consists of preparing preliminary engineering including <br />but not limited to planning, environmental permitting, determination of right of way needs and plan <br />preparation, project management, structural engineering, geo technical engineering, traffic <br />engineering, civil engineering, 100% design plans, specifications and estimate package for the <br />replacement of the structure described. The selected firm will be expected to start on the project upon <br />award and deliver a complete WSDOT approved Plans Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) package <br />ready for advertisement for construction by July 31, 2023. <br />The County reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for any subsequent phases <br />(such as right of way or construction) associated with this project. <br />Public Works has been assigned a sixteen (16) percent Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal for the <br />design phase of this critical bridge replacement. <br />PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTAL: <br />If you wish to be considered for work under this SOQ, submit a sealed envelope to Kittitas County <br />Public Works, at 411 N. Ruby St. Suite 1, Ellensburg WA 98926 by 5:00 pm local time on May 26, <br />2022. Submittals shall include a one-page cover letter with the firm name and contact information. <br />Submittals shall also include five copies of your Statement of Qualifications describing the firm's or <br />team's ability to professionally provide the requested services.
