Select and deselect values by clicking on them. <br />6.3 Ranges for Continuous Variables <br />Any value within a range of valid values can be entered for a continuous variable. A table <br />in the Variables paper (Andrews 2009) provides valid ranges and default English and <br />metric units for each input variable. <br />If you click on the Guide button beside a continuous variable, an Input Guide window <br />will appear (Figure 32). The valid range and units of the variable are shown above the <br />input boxes. You might use the Guide button to enter a single value when you want to <br />check the valid range. You might enter only starting and ending values when you are pro- <br />ducing a plot. Typically, a range of values is entered: the start value (From), the ending <br />value (Thru), and the Step. <br />You can enter values in reverse order by putting the highest value in From, the lowest <br />value in Thru, and entering a negative Step size. This has no effect on graphs but can be <br />useful in formatting tables. For example, a table of dead fuel moisture versus wind speed <br />can be organized as increasing wind and decreasing moisture, showing changes in the di- <br />rection of higher flame length values. <br />38 USDA Forest Service Gen.
