3

5.2 Prepare pavement design identifying the pavement section for the new taxilane.
5.3 Prepare a conceptual level cost estimate for each of the alternatives developed in Task 5.1.
5.4 Conduct a review meeting with the County to discuss the alternatives and identify the preferred alternative.
DELIVERABLES:
• Plan sheet of each concept level alternative (up to three alternatives)
• Pavement section design
• Construction cost estimate for each alternative (up to three alternatives)

TASK 6 – Intermediate Design
Prepare an intermediate level design of the preferred alternative. Intermediate design will include the following:
6.1 Finalize horizontal layout of preferred alternative and prepare vertical grade design and transitions to existing
pavement tie-ins.
6.2 Prepare draft Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (CSPP) and draft 7460. 7460 will be prepared for
temporary construction impacts and the permanent condition. Upload the CSPP and 7460 to the OE/AAA
portal for review by all FAA offices.
6.3 Prepare preliminary construction phasing/safety/work area plan drawings to be incorporated into the
construction plans set.
6.4 Perform engineering for development of the taxilane paving and grading plans.
6.5 Prepare a demolition design to identify and depict items scheduled for removal.
6.6 As necessary per County requirements determined in the task 4 County pre-application meeting, prepare a
drainage design and draft drainage site plan technical report for the taxilane construction. Drainage design
and report will be per Kittitas County requirements. It is assumed that drainage design is limited to surface
runoff to infield grades, and water quality treatment is achieved by filter strips and/or infiltration Best
Management Practices (BMPs). It is assumed that stormwater conveyance, flow control, and detention is not
required for this project.
If required by the County the limited Stormwater Site Plan will be prepared for the project improvements
based on the requirements of the Department of Ecology Stormwater Management Manual for Eastern
Washington. Stormwater design elements may require and are limited to the following items:
a) Perform a site analysis using existing documents and reports, and evaluation of existing site conditions.

b) Using the findings of the site analysis and guidance of the regulating documents determine the applicable core
drainage elements for this project.

c) Prepare a preliminary and final design of the permanent stormwater system BMPs.

d) As necessary and determined as part of task 5.4, prepare a preliminary and final design of a subdrainage
system to protect the reconstructed pavement section.
