We are considered close enough forweekend travel to a <br />destination that offers a mix of recreational experiences. Cle Elum is becoming <br />known as being "halir,ray to everywhere." Our retail businesses shared that <br />shoppers often express excitemet']t in visiting Cle Elum and seeing all the positive <br />changes. We are learning from our retail and hospitality businesses that ihere is an <br />increase in people visiting Cle Eium who are staying in the area at one of many <br />lodging facilities. There is also an increase from vrsiiors who are one - two hours <br />away. Traveling to Cle Elum is gaining popularity as our business community <br />continues to offer more for a visitor to explore and experience. <br />Since February of 2021 . our business community. retail, and hospitality has <br />exploded. Empty buildings have been sold and are either opening willr new <br />businesses or they are in lhe process of being remodeled for new retail that will be <br />opening. New storefronts and updated busjness offerings are attracting visitors and <br />increasing our abiiity to rnarket Cle Elum as a destination. Our streets are slowly <br />becoming more attractive as they are being upgraded, and our seasonal decorations <br />provide Cle Elum with a more attractive look and feel while visiting. We are <br />beconrrng known as the town that welcomes visitors and a business community that <br />encourages them to explore oiher shops and museums while stopping. lnstead of <br />our businesses encouraging visitors to explore Roslyn, they are now showing pnde <br />in their own downtown and encouraging custonlers to stay and visrtor the new shops <br />and restaurants that are available. <br />250C character linril
