4.1 Collaboration*Utilizing the Main Street Four Point Strategic Approach, our association works with
busrnesses and our community to strengthen our economic development. Business
and community mernbers are on our Main Streel Committees which include,
Promotions. Economic Vitality. Design and Outreach.
One of the key goals for the Cle Elum Downtown Association is ihat of creating and
fostering partnerships with others. We view this opportunity to work together as a
win-wrn in successfully marketing and moving our community into a destinaiion that
is well support by tourism. Our partnership with our local partners continues to be
strong and even growing. Locally, we work with Suncadia Resort, the Roslyn
Downtown Association. Ellensburg Downtown Association, Kittitas County Chamber
of Commerce, Discover Cle Elum. WA Horse Park, and the NK County Tribune to
plan events that can coincide with peak weekends in order to coma*et to attract
visitors. This has been especially beneficial in placing Cle Elum as a destination for
visitors to Roslyn. Suncadia Resort. and WA Horse Park. Through this collaboration
we are moving tralfic from Roslyn and Suncadia to the great opportunities our town
offers.
Our business community are also key partners. Through continued building of
relationships with existing and new businesses they have become much more
engaged planning and marketing their downtown. One of the major areas of growth
has been the engagernent businesses have on social nredia and in capturing their
audiences. Through our collaborative efforts of sharing through social media, our
reach has become much grealer.
This past year we have started cosponsoring events in our downtown with
businesses and organrzations. For example, on Labor Day weekend we
cosponsored "Art in the Heart of the Cascades". This event featured guest artists,
classes for kids. and an art swap. We are currently planning more events like this in
2022. We are excited that our retail and food and beverage businesses are
beginning to understand ihe value of working together to support each other and to
market Cle Elum for tourism.
Working with the City of Cle Elum Historic Preservation Commission, The Norlhern
Kittitas County Historical Society, and the Cascade Association of Museums &
History, we are having discussions about how to promote our rich historic past in a
manner that attracis visitors to our town-
2500 character litr)il
