department. The surface and safety zones are overlaid on top ofthe existing underlying zoning, <br />which remains in full force and effect. Where the requirements imposed by the surface and safety <br />zones conflict with the requirements of the underlying zoning, the more restrictive requirement shall <br />be enforced. <br />1 . Surface Zones. ln order to carry out the provisions of this chapter, there are created and <br />established certain surface zones which include all ofthe land lying beneath the approach <br />surfaces, transitional surfaces, horizontal surfaces, and conical surfaces as they apply to Kittitas <br />County Airport (Bowers Field). Such zones are shown on Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field) <br />overlay zoning map "A", as amended. Within each of the surface zones there are hereby <br />established certain height restrictions for structures and trees.
