Corrservatively, !1re saw
a 25% increase in participation betvleen our first year 2018 and 20i g in these
three events.
ln the past year our orrline traffic has increased by 5092o, Our reach and
engagement of FB posls continues to gain momerrtum. For example, a rrew activity
'Main Street POPS'which identifies businesses and any retail events or specials
they may be offering on the first Saturday of the month raras launchecl rn
September. Our first weekend of Main Street POPS, marketed through our FB
page reached 7,854 people with almosi 1,000 engagentents. As r,r,re continue this
program, especially during our slower season, r,!e are positive that this will impact
retail and attract traveleis offof 1-90 or vtsiting nearby to stop and shop, sleep anrl
eal in our welcorning and warm communrly.
25{j0 clraracter lirrit
&x,cr bc hcv; yrt r,r ill pro*nte yt)ur cvLllt/aclivily{acilily to altract tnn isis.
Promotitrg Downtown continues to be a long-term goal, builcling partnership wth
merchants. local vendors and organizatiorrs to increase parlicipatron is an
important part of achieving the goal of both pronroting arrd encouragirrg tourism in
Cle Elum.
Expanding the reach oi annual and new events i activities, through increaserl
marketing and targeted outreach with visitors to Cle Elunr, travelers along 1-g0 ancl
people participating in major events will inrpact lodging at local hotels arrd resorts in
the area
One or our new pronotional tours is that of using the strength of being one of 34
programs in Washington State, !1fio has a goal of preserving our hislory through
our buildings and historical places. We will be working closeiy with all 33 other
programs to oross-promote our comnrunities. Historical places and history are one
of the greatest areas of interesis for visitors from out of state and other countries.
As previously mentioned, Cle Elum is fortunate to be one of three Dorrrnrtovvr
programs in Kittitas County. arrd all three of us have a rich history to share.
The Promotions Committee, an integral part of the Doumtolr.n Association, is
already r,rcrrking on new ideas to develop large e'rents rairen Phase 4 occurs and
interactive tourist activities before that period of tinte occur$. One of our emphasis
will be a stronger virtual presence to help draw tourists to our community. Telling
our history. sharing our unique relail opportunities, the access to local parks, trails,
llatenq€ys and more, are points of irrterest that encourage tourists to visit and stay
in our lccal hotels while enjoying what our community has to offer.
To measure our results. rrre voll continue to conduct surveys, review goggle
analytics, registration fornts to verify attendance information. ln addition, we have
received a conrmitment from the City of Cle Elunr to utilize new counters lhat may
be acquired through addltlonal funding suppod that has been requested on their
part. This wll give us a new baseline to begin drawing from in 2021.
2500 characler limt
4lCollaboration
