KPFF will provide all civil and structural engineering required to develop PS&E for the <br />rehabilitation and repair of the N Thorp Highway Yakima River Bridge. All structural <br />engineering design will conform to the latest versions of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge <br />Design Specifications as modified by the WSDOT Bridge Design Manual (BDM) and <br />County standards. All civil engineering work shall conform to the latest editions of the <br />WSDOT Design Manual and County standards. <br />Anticipated design tasks include: <br />• Steel repair design <br />• Concrete repair design <br />• Bridge structural analysis for scaffolding/containment loads <br />• Bridge paint removal and replacement <br />• Expansion joint replacement <br />• Traffic control design <br />Four design submittals are assumed for this project. These submittals and their contents <br />are shown below: <br />• 30% — Plans, cost estimate <br />• 75% — Plans, specifications, cost estimate and comment responses on 30% <br />submittal <br />• 99% — Plans, specifications, cost estimate and comment responses on 75% <br />submittal <br />Bid Documents — Plans, specifications and cost estimate. Plans and <br />specifications will be stamped and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in <br />the State of Washington <br />The following design drawings are assumed for this project: <br />Dw # <br />Drawing Title <br />1 <br />Cover Sheet <br />2 <br />Temporary Road Closure and Detour Plan <br />3 <br />Temporary Road Closure and Detour Details <br />4 <br />Bridge Layout <br />5 <br />General Notes and Summary of Quantities <br />6 <br />Construction Loading Diagram and Notes <br />7 <br />Concrete Repair Details -- 1 <br />8 <br />Concrete Repair Details — 2 <br />9 <br />Steel Repair Details — 1 <br />10 <br />Steel Repair Details — 2 <br />11 <br />Expansion Joint Details <br />Chudgar Engineering will perform quality control (QC) of the 75% design structural <br />analysis calculations and 75% bridge design drawings. QC comments received from <br />Chudgar will be incorporated, as needed, into the design calculations and plans. QC <br />comments will be logged into a comment register (Excel) or as markups on the plan <br />sheets. KPFF will provide responses to comments received within the comment register <br />and/or the plan markups. QC comments will follow standard engineering practices (red, <br />blue, yellow color coding). <br />
