The <br />high mountain setting with our arena nestled in the trees is unique for rodeo and <br />many fans come to enjoy the sport in a non-tradiiional backdrop. <br />The Central Washington location and multiple day/night event attract patrons from <br />around the State. Cle Elum is close enough to drive to for a fun everrt yet far <br />enough that people choose to spend the night so they can enjoy the after rodeo <br />entertainment and a full ueekend of events and activities in Kittiias County. <br />PRC/JWPRA are the highest level of sanctioning in the sport of rodeo. This means <br />that the best competitors and stock are featured at our event and along with that <br />comes fans and followers. <br />We utilize a stock conlractor, PRCA photographer, clor,rn & announcer with national <br />notoriety, and follor.rrers wlro attend to see iheir stock, acts, and art. <br />Rodeo Royalty noi only travel fronr across the Pacific Northr,r,est to participate in the <br />Roundup they bring a fan base and follor,r,ers along with them. Little girls bring their <br />families to meet the real live princesses and ponies. <br />ln 2019 spectators in atlendance uere tracked by clicker counts at the gate and 2p <br />codes ltere recorded at the time of ticket sale (online and in-person sales). We had <br />702 fans that came more than 50 nriles auay yet still from WA State, 75 fronr out of <br />WA State and we had 29 visitors from out of the USA, Additionally, rne had 159 <br />rodeo participants, vendors. & volunteers from distances greater than 50 miles <br />from Kittitas County. <br />It's clear to see that rodeo fans don't mind traveling to join in the \ /estern ulay of life <br />and get a chance to cheer on their favorite contestants and stockl <br />2500 character limt <br />Response 2.2 *De,sct ibe tire pri* success of ycur evenlaclivitylfacilily in attractio,r tourists. <br />Over the past 7 years, the Cle Elum Roundup has seen an increase in reputation <br />and attendance. The Roundup has grou,n from an amateur rodeo with a 100 <br />spectators to a PRCA professional rodeo weekend event that attracts thousands of <br />spectators, vendors, contestants, and volunteers. <br />ln 2019 spectators in atiendance raere tracked by clicker counts at the gate and 2p <br />codes \.4/ere recorded at the time of ticket sale (online and in-person sales). We <br />found that almost half of our fans \ €re considered tourists coming from at least 50 <br />miles airay, 7A2 were from outside a 50-mile radius of Kittitas County yet within WA, <br />75 were from a State other than WA, and 29 came from outside the USA. <br />Plus we had 159 contestants, officials, contractors, vendors, & volunteers from <br />distances greater than 50 miles from Kittitas County. <br />The Roundup brings vrestern tourists to Cle Elum and the allure of the Kittitas <br />County outdoors keeps them coming back. <br />2500 char:nter lin it <br />Application Questions: Part 2 <br />3llmpact
