4.1 Collaboration * <br />4.2 Promoting Local* <br />HUSINESS <br />Our collaborations include u,rrrking with Chinook Entertainment and Chinook Fest, <br />and mutually beneficial relationships with regional cider houses, local <br />winery and a local craft breuery. <br />WSU's Master Cidermaker program has proven to be a great partner, and will <br />increase their involvement f or 2021 . <br />KFEN is a member of the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce and our all <br />volunteer board brings connections with CWU, conservation groups, and dorrrntovrlr <br />business ovvners. <br />CWU Recreation and Tourism program provides practicum students to help <br />manage and plan the event and we anticipate that they will again be supportive. <br />We were building a partnership with the NorthWest Cider Association, the US <br />regional organization promoting apples, groraers, cidermakers and distributors from <br />the Northvest throughout the nation. We also sell RV and camping on-site at the KVEC. Those <br />Iinks are all framed wiih a "you should take extra time and take a look around <br />Kittitas County" message. <br />That message has been reiterated through facebook posts which lead to the <br />u,ebsite lodging page and thus bookings. <br />We seek community sponsors for this event. Attached is our 2020 sponsorship <br />campaign which was never sent out. lf rae garner local sponsors, their namesllogos <br />and so on are listed on banners, tickets, progtams, and social nredia. <br />We also hand out Chamber materials to all attendees. <br />The ultimate purpose of this event is to gain attention for the Yakima Canyon <br />lnterpretive Cenler project. <br />That in itself is a big-picture, long-ternr tourist benefit. <br />We vwnt people to take to heart the Kittitas Environmental Education Netuork <br />message, and become eplorers of the Yakinra Canyon, the Teanaway Community <br />Forest, ihe WindFarm, Ginkgo state park, and all the rest. <br />Our mission is to "Connect Community to Nature". and create life-long learners.
