Response 2.2 *
Application Questions: Part 2
tescribe the gior success of ycr:r evenuactivMacility in attraclion tourists.
Several successful projects such as; Pioneer Day Village, Boo Elum and Christmas
in Cle Elum have gained popularity wilh visitors to our area. Conservatively, \ilie saw
a25o/oincrease in participation betueen our first year 2018 and 2019 in these
three events.
ln the past year our online traffic has increased by 50%. Our reach and
engagement of FB posts continues io gain momerrtum. For example, a new activity
'Main Street POPS'wtrich identifies businesses and any retail events or specials
they may be offering on the first Saiurday of the month was launched in
September. Our firsl weekend of Main Street POPS, marketed through our FB
page reached 7,854 people with almost 1,000 engagements. As we continue this
program, especially during our slouaer season, we are positive that this will impact
retail and attract travelers off of 1 -90 or visiting nearby to stop and shop, sleep and
eai in our welcoming and warm conrmunity.
2500 character linit
3llmpact
Go to definitions of terms.
Response 3;
Measuring Results*
Application Questions: Part 3
Describe hwy you will pronDte your evenVactivilylfacilily to attract tarrists.
Promoting Downtown continues to be a long-term goal, building partnership with
merchanls, local vendors and organizations to increase participation is an
important part of achieving the goal of both promoting and encouraging tourism in
Cle Elum.
Expanding the reach of annual and new events / activities, through increased
marketing and targeted outreach with visitors to Cle Elum, travelers along 1-90 and
people participating in major events will impact lodging ai local hotels and resorts in
the area
One or our new promolional tours is that of using the strength of being one of 34
programs in Washington State, who has a goal of preserving our history, through
our buildings and historical places. We will be working closely with all 33 other
programs to cross-promote our communities. Historical places and history are one
of the greatest areas of inierests for visitors from out of state and oiher countries.
As previously mentioned, Cle Elum is fortunate to be one of three Downtorrin
programs in Kittitas County, and all three of us have a rich history to share.
The Promotions Committee, an integral part of the Downtorirn Association, is
already vrrrcrking on new ideas to develop large events wlren Phase 4 occurs and
interactive tourist activities before that period of time occurs. One of our emphasis
will be a stronger virtual presence to help draw tourists to our community. Telling
our history, sharing our unique retail opporiuniiies, the access to local parks, trails,
!€terM/ays and more, are points of interest thal encourage tourists to visit and stay
in our local hotels lthile enjoying wtrat our community has to offer.
To measure our results, rae will continue to conduct surveys, review goggle
analytics, registration forms to verify attendance information. ln addition, ue have
received a commitment from the Ciiy of Cle Elum to utilize new counters that may
be acquired through additional funding support that has been requested on their
part. This will give us a new baseline to begin drawing lromin 2021.
2500 character lirit
4lCollaboration
