Eight safety improvement priorities where identified and are summarized as follows: <br />1. Roadside Hazard Safety Improvements — This is a County wide spot safety <br />improvement project to fix known high risk hazard locations on multiple <br />roadways. <br />2. Bridge Rail Code 3 (Phase 1 through Phase 3) — This is three separate <br />construction projects to improve bridges that have no safety rail or wooden traffic <br />rail. <br />3. Clear Zone Inventory — Data Collection — This is a planning effort to identify <br />hazards County wide. <br />4. Denmark Road - Project to improve safety hazards on said road. <br />S. Huntzinger Road (Phase 1 through Phase 3) — This is three separate construction <br />projects to continue guardrail along Huntzinger Road. <br />6. Bridge Rail Code 2 (Phase 1 through Phase 7) — This is seven separate <br />construction projects to improve bridges that have no approach rail, or non- <br />crashworthy Tall. <br />7. Bridge Rail Code 1 - This improves bridges that have no approach rail. <br />S. Corridor and Intersection Safety Improvements — Monitors several locations that <br />have accidents but we have recently improved. So we will watch to see if the <br />accidents are reduced and decide if these locations should be fiarther evaluated <br />and improved or removed from future plans. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />The data gathering, engineering analysis, project scoping, cost estimating, and plan <br />narrative is being delivered internally by the Public Works engineering staff. To date <br />about $27,000 has been expensed.
