Kittitas County CAO Update <br />July 7, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Phase 2 — Research Current Best Available Science BAS <br />SCJ will review current BAS used in the draft GAO and update based on currently acceptable BAS by <br />Ecology. A revised BAS list will be presented to County staff for review and comment. Our <br />understanding is that the BAS report includes the following contents: <br />Geologically Hazardous Areas <br />Frequently Flooded Areas <br />Critical Aquifer Recharge Areas <br />Wetlands <br />Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas <br />Critical Area Inventory Maps <br />Total Phase 2 estimate: $6,000 <br />Phase 2 Deliverables <br />• Revised BAS list <br />Phase 3 —Complete a Revised Draft Critical Areas Ordinance <br />SCJ will take the draft CAO completed by ESA and update sections requiring update SAS references. SCJ <br />does not anticipate a complete re -write of the draft CAO. An electronic copy of the revised Draft CAO <br />will be forwarded to County Staff for review, comment, and release for public comment if necessary. <br />Task 1 — Complete a revised Draft CAO with updated BAS <br />Task 2 — Meeting with County staff in Ellensburg to discuss comments to the revised Draft CAO <br />'notal Phase 3 estimate: $6,000 <br />Phase 3 Deliverables <br />• Electronic copies of the revised Draft CAO <br />Phase 4 — Final Critical Areas Ordinance <br />SCI will incorporate comments on the revised Draft CAD into a Final CRO for County staff to use for <br />adoption into the Kittitas County Code. SCJ will work with County staff to arrange for the most efficient <br />method of providing the final CAO compatible with current county format. <br />Task 1— incorporate comments from County staff <br />Task 2 — Complete a final updated CAO for adoption by Kittitas County <br />Total Phase 4 estimate: $3,500 <br />Phase 4 Deliverables <br />• Ele-ctronic copies of the Final CAO and associated reports & maps <br />Project Assumptions and Exclusions <br />• Existing County documents will be available to SCJ in electronic format <br />• SCJ will update only those specific sections of the CAO requiring updated BAS <br />• Resource maps completed by ESA will not be updated <br />
