b. Though the grant did not require match, we thought it might be a nice supporting
project for Friends of Fair to purchase 2 or 3 drinking fountains for the grounds.
c. Outdoor mounted water bottle refill stations are about $2,000 each. Indoor mounted
water bottle refill and water fountains are about $1,000 each. Some examples are
attached.
4. Refreshing of fair murals on Bloom Pavilion
a. We hired a couple of local artists to peel off the old varnish and apply a new coat of
protective paint.
b. The cost for time and supplies was $600. The invoice is attached.
5. Authorization to apply for grants for projects
a. I have special expertise in grants researching and grant writing and have a fairly good
track record of success. However, KVEC is not a 501 (c) 3, so in order to apply for grant
funding from private foundations I would need to do so under the Friends of Fair non-
profit status.
b. If I bring opportunities to the board in advance and secure approval, would this be
acceptable?
6. Purchase of additional bleachers
a. Towable bleachers with railings range in cost from $2,000-$8,000 depending on size and
features. Some examples are attached.
b. I still need to hear from Jerry/Clay (?) about how many and what size bleachers are
needed before getting final costs.
